GH2 rw2 Aperture preprocessing CRUSHED & Green

Forgive my ignorance and I know someone else has posted something to the like already, but when I try to import rw2's from my GH2, not only are they green but they are intensely "corrected" already and no where near the original RAW.

its funny, if you initially click on the file very quickly before Aperture has a chance to finish "Processing" you can see the actual RAW.

I've only worked with a 5d mark ii in Aperture and never had this shift after processing happen. What is Aperture doing here? Shouldn't we be able to have it not do any pre-processing so we have access to the actual RAW?

For now, its completely unusable and I have no way to get the original latitude back.

thanks for your help!

Sent in feedback but as Apple takes their sweet time it helps to check here to see if anyone has a solution. I tried the Adobe DNG Converter to convert the GH2 RW2 file but Aperture does not recognize the resulting DNG. So, I installed Panasonic's SILKYPIX software which works but is annoying to use and means importing giant TIFFs into Aperture.

It's ironic how we used to struggle with different file formats back in the pre-internet days, but in many ways it is no better now with the big companies refusing to work together. I am so tired of it.

I wish Apple would communicate better but that's not their way. Raw file conversion has always been a weakness of using Apple photo apps. The raw converter is updated infrequently and Apple can take many months to incorporate a new model. Forums are full of photographers asking when their camera will be supported long after Adobe has updated their converter. Some have probably been driven to Lightroom for that reason.

The GH2 happened to be included quickly in Apple's "supported cameras," even before most people got their hands on one, but as we discovered does not work. Curiously, Apple apps do not seem to accept GH2 files run through Adobe's DNG converter, either. I'm afraid all we can do it be patient. It will get fixed but your guess is as good as mine as to when. In the meantime I use Silkypix which does a reasonable job but is a pain to use.
