ITUNES APP STORE WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD WITH EXISTING APPLE ID

Hey,

I've been trying to create a free itunes app store account. First I read the instructions in this link : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534, but the link shows how to create a new account, the problem is that I already have a Apple ID.

On the other hand when I try to sign in in the app store with my existing Apple ID, I get the message "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store please review your account information" with two options "cancel" and "review".

Clicking in review, I go to the page with the terms of service, continuing I go to a page where I have to type my email, my password, question and answer for the password and my birth date. The email field has the email that is being used with my current Apple ID, and the password field has the password of my existing Apple ID. The other fields are blank. Completing them, and clicking in next I go to the payment options page, but there's no "none" option, so I can't make a account withou using a credit card.

Is there a way to create a itunes app store without a credit card with my existing apple ID, or a I have to create a new one ?

I have no word to describe this IDIOTIC and NON-ACCEPTABLE way to force people to make an ID in iTune and even give their credit-card info.

I didn't even want to make an ID in iTune, but I was forced to make it just to get one free application.

On top of that.

Do you, APPLE, have to make users to waste time to search for the detailed description/you-tube video to detour your stupid implementation around?? Just to make an ID without giving you the credit-card information? REALLY??

I set up a new iTunes account with an existing AppleID without entering a credit card number by "purchasing" a free app (AppleRemote) in the app store and select Create new account.

This didn't work either for me. OK, I'm in for a rant....

I find it ABSOLUTELY SCANDALOUS that Apple won't let me use my already existing Apple ID to download free applications from the Mac App Store without entering my credit card details. I can see this debate has been going on for over a year now. If the issue has not been fixed yet, then we can safely assume that this is actually deliberate from Apple and that they are doing all they can to enforce this policy.

I use my Apple ID as an Apple developer. My company pays a yearly fee to Apple for that. And that doesn't even give me the right to download a free application? You must be kidding!

If you have an existing AppleID you will not have a "none" option but you will have the "code" option. Find a redeemable code (iTunes card, Starbucks free song of the week cards at all locations etc) as long as you are redeeming something you will be fine.

Credit Card info can be removed immediately after entry in store's options if desired

If you are insistent on using your existing email as your appleid then follow one of those steps. Otherwise, just use a new email and make a new appleid while downloading a free app.

There's no other way around it. If its existing without the none option you need card or code. At least there are free codes. Pain in the butt but possible anyway.

Except when you do have the None option as I have demonstrated.

Including a free app or song as previously noted numerous times in this thread.

Yes, thanks for letting me know. That was in my post you responded to.

"Chris CA fill in this page without making YET ANOTHER EMAIL ADDRESS,"

Why would I? Why are you creating a new AppleID?

"For anyone that still needs to know, the true answer is:" yes, it is very simple.

" ADD A CC AND THEN DELETE IT."

Why not simply attempt to purchase a free app then create an iTunes account with no credit card as shown above?

It makes perfect sense, if you want to download anything you must have some sort of payment info on file. I understand some people have an issue with this. If you have PayPal I suggest going that route, it's what I do.

As for creating an separate account for a free app Chris is that you will have to sign into iTunes/app store in order to use and or re download said app. It gets difficult...I have an old per era Mac.com that I still use for iTunes as well as a new account at my email address. I toggle between the two to download the various items both accounts have rights to.

You have to have an account to purchase on iTunes.

Okay. so why get a new account? You can continue to use the same account.

As you noted, it gets difficult with more than one account.

the solution by hchagger is perfect really worked with me

create a new email and use it to create the new account

follow the steps as described by hchagger

the none option is there (only if u do as said in here by hchagger and me), and am using iTunes 10.5.3.3

otherwise u won't find the none option

after u finish everything and create the new account

u can sign in as said by hchagger you can go to appleid.apple.com website and manage your account to change the account email

this also worked fine with me finally!!

dam apple they like to complicate everything
