Alarm doesn't work since new year

The alarm bug related to the daylight savings transition, and resulted in them going off an hour early or late, not what you are reporting. Regardless, it was fixed in iOS 4.2.1.

Well my iPhone 4 running 4.2.1 has the same issue as reported. As does an iphone3 running an earlier version of ios4.

At least with the daylight savings bug the alarm still worked. Now it doesn't work at all- I have tested it to check by setting an alarm ages minutes ahead- nothing. Cleared all alarms and started again- nothing. Poor.

I can confirm that this is not an old issue but is in fact a new one.

I have 4.2.1 installed on my iPhone 3GS and my single use alarm doesn't work anymore.
This is also an issue on iPod Touch 4 as after my alarm didn't go off I checked my daughters iPod to see if it was on other Apple devices which also has a non working single use alarm. Awesome.

Can also confirm as a problem on 2 x iPhone 4's and a 3GS. The Alarm doesn't work at all. 😟

Neither the iPhone 4 or the 3GS can run iOS 2.x. Do you mean 4.x? Since 1/1/11 hasn't arrived here yet, can't confirm this bug. All alarms still working.

Yep, Apple-fail. iPhone alarms not working. We have at least half a dozen people at work today who were late as their iPhone alarms didn't go off.

My alarm didn't work this morning, either. I have an iPhone 4 operating with the most recent software update. This could cause chaos around the world as people (expect to) wake up (at a certain time) on New Year's Day!

I thought I was the only one with this problem.
I can confirm that non-repeat alarms have stopped working after midnight of the 31st December 2010.
I know this because I set several alarms to remind me of midnight, and one at 12:10 to remind me to call my mother. The three pre-midnight alarms went off without problems. The 12:10 alarm never sounded however.

I have tried setting several alarms this mornin and none worked, aside from recurring alarms which are unaffected.

I tested this problem on my own 3GS running the latest OS 4.2.1 and my fiance's iPhone 4 running the same OS release.

thousands of people depend on the iphone alarm !! so how many people will be late for doing something today??? i tried to plug into the computer again for itune updating, but still not functioning!!

Same issue here, alarm set for 8:00am on new years day and nada, zip zero. Running latest iOS and iPhone 4.

I live in Japan and my alarm did not wake me up this morning. I spent an hour trying to get it to work, gave up and got two 3rd party aps that work. I'd rather use the Apple ap. I haven't updated to 4.2 yet as I'd heard that it was real buggy. Except for the alarm is it safe to update, yet?

I have an iPhone 3GS and the alarm was working fine yesterday then today it stopped working and we missed a very important appointment. Not happy! So when is it going to be fixed?? I can down load a crappy app but I'd prefer to use the alarm on the iPhone if poss. And yes I have 4.2.1 running on my phone, no new updates as yet. Would it help if factory settings were restored through iTunes does anyone think??

You are not the only one being affected by this problem. Last night once turning to January 1 2011, the alarm on IPHONE 4, 3GS, 3G, were found not working properly - dead. The whole team of during my night shift last night had encountered the same problem. Anyone can suggest good advice to fix this problem.
