I created a new "one time" alarm and it worked just fine. Using an old alarm (where I change the times now and then) worked as well. I guess the "bug" is now gone. I did not reboot the phone or anything like that. (3Gs with the latest iOS).

The "fix" is to create a new recurring alarm.
Apple
may fix the underlying issue in a future update, but it would be silly to release an update to iOS for something so trivial outside of the regular update cycle.
I have an iPhone 3GS with alarms that did not work this morning. I always have had a separate alarm clock as a back-up, so I was not late this morning. The back-up is in case I forgot to charge my iPhone overnite and the battery dies.
Anyway, the news this morning incorrectly stated that Apple would be releasing an update to fix this bug. iTunes has no such update. However, after reading the posts on this discussion, I deleted all my alarms and created new ones. Everything works fine now.

Yeah! Someone actually read posts in this discussion and found solutions. I can't believe how many people keep asking for answers when the solutions are in previous posts.
