Alarm doesn't work since new year

How embarrassing can this be, not only from the perspective that Apple has had the alarm clock problems since many months ago and they have totally failed to improve the testing and implementation and coming across with similar problem already now. Also it seems that Apple is totally ignoring the problems this causes to numerous people and totally failing to deliver the corrections. Outrageous!

This is not good enough Apple. I was also late for work on NYD because of it.

They haven't even told us why it's happening?! Is it just poor programming?? How is it able to automatically fix itself on the 3rd??

OK, I tried this right away. A new alarm functions. Thanks.

This would mean not the checking of the alarm is the problem, but the initialization of the alarm caused the problem.
I hope this will be solved in a new version of the OS. It is disturbing not to know when I can change the existing alarm or when I have to delete the old alarm and create a new one (year/daylightsavingstime-switch).

I will inform my colleagues about this work-around.

Apple is to big. Meanwhile nobody is in charge and nobody cares anymore.

For sure, if we have a major failure, we solve it! At least we try our best, as we are trained to do so....but in the end, if the problem is caused due to a manufacturer's error,they will have to explain an be responsible for it, that's for sure!!

Mine on my iPhone 3GS didn't work yesterday or earlier this am, but started working right after I visited this site. Weird!!!

My iPhone 3GS alarm has not gone off for the past three mornings (1, 2, and 3 January 2011). Supposedly, it was supposed to be working again today (3 January), according to what I've read, but it is not. This is very frustrating, and is showing rather poorly on Apple's part.

Just adding to the chorus. iPhone 3GS, software 4.2.1 - alarms stopped working. These are individual alarms - not recurring or anything else.

Also - as an aside - my iPhone seems to hang ever since latest update. Screen freezes, does not respond to gestures.

Apple - stop adding useless things like game manager. This is a PHONE first, gaming device NOT.

If you've read the other posts here you know to try deleting the current alarm you have and enter a new one, i.e., do not edit the times on an existing one.

Ditto. Wasn't even aware of the problem until this am. Have not tried Repeat feature yet. Late for work.

Delete all the alarms you have in the phone completely and make a new one...it should work. Mine does now.

I have 4.2.1 installed on my iPhone 3GS and my single use alarm doesn't work anymore. What is the solution to the problem.

Exactly - it's a PHONE not an ALARM CLOCK! Way to shoot yourself in the foot there with that comment!!

I agree with spectra09, I deleted all my alarms and set up new ones, they are working fine now.
