It's also useful to point out that the iPhone Terms of Service specifically state:

Article 7: "(...) You further acknowledge that the iPhone software and services are not intended or suitable for use in situations or environments where the failure or time delays of, or errors or inaccuracies in, the content, data or information provided by the iPhone software or services could lead to death, personal injury, or severe physical or environmental damage, including without limitation the operation of nuclear facilities, aircraft navigation or communication systems, air traffic control, life support or weapons systems. (...)"

I agree with everything you said, but you do realize that only 6 iPhone users have ever read the Terms Of Use.

It appears there's nothing in the agreement that prevents me from relying upon the iPhone for interplanetary spaceship navigation.

Good point. I probably should not use it in my secret government proj...ohwaitnevermind.

Anyway, when I really need a reliable alarm, I set two different devices. I set my iPhone alarm a couple of minutes earlier than my old-school alarm clock.

Hi davidK2010,

No need for sorry, was just clarifying my previous post. And I totally agree that the vast majority of forum posts are for help because of issues and tech help, that is the reason forums are in existence.

To those that say that the iPhone is perfect I would say tap the phone icon > recents and try and clear missed calls only, leaving all calls in place. (simple enough thing to ask of such an advance piece of phone technology.)

Yes, and it will be when iOS 7.0 is out and you are still using 3.0.1. But you also aren't using a lot of software that is currently out, and won't be in the future, you don't have folders, you can't print, etc., etc.

There are reasons that some people like 3.0.1. One can upgrade the firmware at any time, but some feel they would lose more than they would gain.

But you are happy and your alarm works so good for you.

I rarely use my iPhone alarm. I have little reason to use any alarm.
