Alarm clock fails as of Jan 1

Both iPhones in the house (3GS) failed to execute the alarm function this morning (v4.1 and 4.2.1). Please post a bug fix or workaround.

It seems a company as large as Apple would take responsibility for this issue. There has been no communication and it seems they are replying on the issue to fix itself. Well we have waited till the 3rd as stated in all the information on the internet but, today is the 4th and the alarms failed today.

You should not rely on your iphone as your primary alarm if so use some type of backup app on your phone.

So what does Steve and Apple propose to fix this issue. Is there going to be a software update ?

I'm 'whining' because I never heard of every car by one maker breaking down on the same day, because a date change is not unpredictable like freak weather and because when a road's closed someone puts a sign up.

And you'll continue to use excuses to blame everyone and everything else on your misfortunes in life instead of taking responsibility for your own actions and creating your desired results. You'll always feel dependent on the actions of others. The entitlement generation lives on.

"The entitlement generation lives on."

But I'm not one of the entitlement generation; I have 100% attendance working full time in a unit for mentally-disordered offenders, run a charitable company in my spare time, nurse one sick relative part-time and share my home with another, clean the street outside my own house and help out with recycling and green transport schemes while paying all my taxes.

Having contributed to Apple's billion-dollar-a-month net profits I want better service from them than this. Prevention, communication and support regarding this fault has been inadequate for what I paid. This is a consumer issue, not a technology one.

I have many expectations. When something doesn't meet those, I sometimes contact the manufacturer but often make another choice. In any case, I always have a work around and a choice. What I don't do is blame my problems on the manufacturer.

In this case, if the alarm were a big issue for me, I would be just as frustrated as everyone else, I just wouldn't come here whining about it. I would send feedback, apply the fix and move on with my life... simple and logical.

Then tell Apple ( http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html) and buy another phone... you have plenty to choose from. That being said, you're living in a dream world if you think other phones don't have worse issues (read their forums). Personally, I don't think I'll find a better phone for me so I'm sticking with the iPhone, warts and all.

So if your brakes failed and you hit someone that would be your fault?

We all rely on technology and for most of us the more we pay for it the more we expect it to work.

I have sent my complaints to Apple and the forum heading is Apple Discussions not fix it and move on with your life which is not a bad name for a forum!

“Wow, comparing waking up late to hitting someone with a car...”

See earlier posts for alternative comparisons to 'waking up late':
'I ... get up in the night and administer medications to my terminally ill partner. . so the end result was late meds and great pain.'
'People had to wait to have their surgery'
'I use the alarm on my iPhone every night so I can check on my young son. He has Type 1 diabetes and it is essential I check his blood sugar levels in the night ...'
'… because of the fault a front line ambulance was unmanned until we got there.'
