Sent out a music producer survey and here's a list of features we really hope will be considered for Logic 10:

1. A user interface overhaul
2. A massive core audio upgrade
3. A major improvement on audio & instrument editing features, especially for editing and creating custom drum sounds etc etc!!!
4. Far superior automation & panning features
5. Multiple mixer screen views and options especially waveform view in the metering aspect
6. Deeper range of color options to color code project/session data
7. More customizable options for the logic user interface like interface skins or ways of using custom gfx like logo's and custom color schemes to make ones logic user interface more unique!!!
8. More consistent and useful updates that add new features as well as improving older ones!!!

Apple is enthusiastically self-serving for their own needs and not the pro community disguising intel microsoft hardware as macintosh machines and giving us microsoft quality support. it appears that Apples target audience arrived at these forums fully willing to hand over there money for semi-professional software with the word Pro in the title and throw their hard earned cash into the clouds.

Maybe Apple should change anything and just call it Logic X and charge $250 for the upgrade. Logic has gone as far as it can go and all the "Pro" users seem to be against anything changing. The program is perfect all hail Logic. BTW Logic hardly resembles the way it was when I started using it. I guess it was just dumb luck that they were able to improve the program until now. They can alway just add more Apple Loops...

I work with a community of about 50 logic users in Germany and nearly all of them love to use some of the old hardware machines from Roland, Korg, Akai and so on.

In the past there was a program from Emagic called "SoundDiver". Sound Diver was a program who integrated all well known hardware synthesizers in to logic that a logic user was able to edit (with read, write, automation!!) the programs and sounds in SoundDiver and Logic.

SoundDiver was the bridge between Logic and the hardware synthesizers. Especially for the old hardware with midi function was SoundDiver the best program on the market to integrate your hardware in to logic.

The most important point was that SoundDiver did all this great work by saving time for us as Logic user.

Our Logic User community agrees that Logic Studio 10 needs a better integration for hardware Synthesizers and especially for the old ones. SoundDiver was the best feature for this.

Apple: Please integrate the Sound Diver in to Logic 10!!! You will see, all professional and semi professional users will love it and you will have a big benefit in comparison to Cubase and ProTools.

The current way to work with logic and hardware synthesizers needs to much time and it is not ideal.

I have a couple of things that annoy me while using Logic:

- When browse from samples in the Media library (with auto play mode on) while playing a track, there's a significant delay from that I select the sample and the sample actually plays something

- There's a significant delay also when dragging or managing audio samples i general in the arrangement while playing a track

- When you add a instrument or audio track, your own custom bus names are not displayed when choosing in- and output (same thing when selecting bus on Logic's in-built Compressor for example)

I kinda' destroys productivity when you can't drag around audio stems while playing your track without getting some delay. Sure, I can use the ESX24 but I really prefer using audio samples directly in my projects.

Please take a look to "Steinberg" with "Cubase". They are working now with Yamaha on nearly the same case like (in the past) Emagic with Sounddiver. For more information please google "studioconnections.com".

We need the same for the new Logic. More integration of "hardware" with the automatism function!!

Thanks in advance and please .. APPLE... take a look to the needs of logic PRO users!!

Apple immediately discontinued Sound Diver when they purchased Logic... and they will never go back to supporting external hardware synths... if anything I imagine they will go the other direction. To be honest, Apple would be happiest not supporting and third party hard/software, if they keep it in house they have control of the direction and stability.

Just like you won't see Apple supporting floppy drives, next they are dropping CD/DVD support, they've been trying to drop FireWire.. Apple moves forward so that users are in a constant state of upgrading thus ensuring cash flow. SJ had mentioned this fact several times.

re: CD/DVD support.

You notice the new Logic has dropped Soundtrack Pro and Waveburner.. they will no longer be developed.

In the order you commented on...

#1 That is what Flex can be used for.. Works great in 64bit Logic

#2 If you mean as a controller then TouchOSC works very well..

#3 Try Gobbler... (Google it)

#4 Quite possible already to a degree... See this forum
