LOGIC 10 FEATURE SUGGESTIONS!!!

Sent out a music producer survey and here's a list of features we really hope will be considered for Logic 10:

1. A user interface overhaul
2. A massive core audio upgrade
3. A major improvement on audio & instrument editing features, especially for editing and creating custom drum sounds etc etc!!!
4. Far superior automation & panning features
5. Multiple mixer screen views and options especially waveform view in the metering aspect
6. Deeper range of color options to color code project/session data
7. More customizable options for the logic user interface like interface skins or ways of using custom gfx like logo's and custom color schemes to make ones logic user interface more unique!!!
8. More consistent and useful updates that add new features as well as improving older ones!!!

Much rather have this non-destructive, but with the ability to apply effects selectively only to audio regions, the way Nuendo does it. No more need to create a new track just to fix the one vocal phrase where she didn't hit the sweet spot and you have to adjust EQ and compressor to make it seamless.

I'd say the best option would be clip based plugins with the choice of having it be real time or bounced down. As it is, I prefer how PT does it right now (destructive but defaulting to destructive editing after making a copy of the audio region in place) over the current Logic version (where that is possible but requires more steps and has more risk of a destructive edit you can't undo) but it would be possible to do a version that is better than either. But even doing it the PT way would be much more useful and not risky at all.

Beyond that, I'd like to see the stuff I mentioned in the last thread about this topic.

For sure. And the added 5000.- price tag will swipe this forum clean of all the newbs who already are desparately seeking for the Play button but for some inexplicable reason sneer at Garageband. Nice move. Add to that a mandatory serial registration to the forum and I'm in.

Yes. Your taste in plug-ins is imperative.

So, audioveritas, considering that Apple doesn't participate at MacWorlds at all anymore, and that they pre-empted virtually the entire industry by pulling a surprise release of 64-bit Logic 9.1 at NAMM last year, I'm really trying to figure out whether you're just being sarcastic, or whether you actually think you're some sort of production elite.

Are you Talking about Logic or CoreAudio? They are not the same thing. Logic's audio engine GOT a complete rewrite in the transition to Logic 8.

Yes, Logic's 64-bit version was unstable, but it was there, and it lit a fire.

Hopefully, 9.2 will complete the 64-bit transition.

Hopefully, they won't listen to the yammering and won't release it until it's good and done.

Now that they got iLife 11 out, I'm sure they've been spending much of the past three months on Logic again.
