LOGIC 10 FEATURE SUGGESTIONS!!!

Sent out a music producer survey and here's a list of features we really hope will be considered for Logic 10:

1. A user interface overhaul
2. A massive core audio upgrade
3. A major improvement on audio & instrument editing features, especially for editing and creating custom drum sounds etc etc!!!
4. Far superior automation & panning features
5. Multiple mixer screen views and options especially waveform view in the metering aspect
6. Deeper range of color options to color code project/session data
7. More customizable options for the logic user interface like interface skins or ways of using custom gfx like logo's and custom color schemes to make ones logic user interface more unique!!!
8. More consistent and useful updates that add new features as well as improving older ones!!!

"I suggest they integrate CreamWare SCOPE for vague and irrelevant reasons. I'll post OS compatibility info for Windows versions once I search my inbox for the e-mail informing me of audioveritas' post about it in this thread."

what is vague about the following 3 points?

1) creamware/sonic core SCOPE has a presence at NAMM and other pro audio conferences . Apple does not stake their ground at NAMM or even Macworld annually anymore.

2) according to the following thread and chart mac os x support is still a year off, but planned

SCOPE PLATfORM O/S COMPATIBILITY CHART
http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_04/compat.htm

XITE-1 and MAX OSX ?
http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=29548&hilit=macosx

3) Apple are vague with anything to do do with the support and development roadmap of Logic Studio and Logic Pro and that is no way to build trust in your customers. it is time that Apple acquires Sonic Core development just like they did with emagic and optimize development combining Logic pro with Scope for Mac OS X.

and

4) Sonic Core’s samplers are just amazing as well. I have used plenty of VST & AU instruments. I prefer to use Sonic Core’s synthesizers and samplers when available. by employing Sonic Core’s mixer it is possible to achieve real time 32 bit floating point process achieving best dynamic range and accuracy as well as Sonic Core effects. I know that a hybrid design of Sonic Core Scope and Logic Pro would take audio production to a whole new galaxy.

Nothing vague about that - that's just spam (exactly the same spam you've been posting from AT LEAST two accounts).

What I find "vague" and "irrelevant" - and what makes it seem spammish - is that you completely fail to explain what on earth Creamware's SCOPE platform has to do with Logic.

When pushed, you offer your reasoningwhy Apple should buy a HARDWARE DSP SPECIALIST:

That is because:

1) They spend money on a trade fair stand that Apple doesn't spend unless they actually have something to announce (like 64-bit Logic, last year).

2) They HAVEN'T ACTUALLY MANAGED TO BUILD A MAC PRODUCT IN OVER TEN YEARS?

3) Apple keeps tight-lipped about future releases, and

4) Sonic sounds amazing.

Great.

Point 4) is the only one that makes the slightest bit of sense, but the fact that they don't actually have a product kind of disqualifies them.

So, since Apple has better things to do than buy an engineering team unable to make a working product, I suggest you hang out on Creamware's forums and rally them to get their **** together. SCOPE looks like a cool platform; I'd like to see them do their homework and implement it for the Mac.

Until that point comes, please shut up about them.

If i had only one whish, my single "feature" suggestion would be:

100% perfect reliability, especially on various systems or when upgrading the OS X.

The old slogan "it simply works" must be brought back to the Mac 🙂

Another thing would be a major upgrade of Ultrabeat and EXS24 if Apple don't want to give this field up to third party plugin developers.

There are other suggestions but these are my major ones.

"4) Sonic sounds amazing. "

"The CreamWare Minimax ASB is arguably the best Minimoog emulation available. Its sound is undeniably authentic, and the feel of its controls is closer to the original than any software-based virtual Minimoog."

an incentive and constructive development is necessary that would involve cooperative support from Apple to develop Scope for Logic Pro like Ableton LIve has done with cycling 74' supporting development of max4live for Ableton Live. this will prevent any chance the creamware/sonic core engineering team, as a one man show, would encounter challenges making a working product optimized for mac os x alone, like Apple already successfully accomplished developing Logic Pro with the Emagic engineering team.

Heads-up:

When you copy and paste from your Creamware spam template, your links break.

Working link, with better audio quality: http://www.vimeo.com/1820127

The Creamware isn't bad, but it's a tad harsh and lacks the smooth buttery quality of the mini.

That's not how buy-outs work.

You buy companies with products that exist and engineers that have proven the expertise to be able to make them.
And you do so in areas of interest to your business.

How does external DSP hardware fit in with Apple's line of business?

It doesn't, unless Apple wants to start building specialized external DSP boxes for pro audio toys.

This is getting absurd.

"How does external DSP hardware fit in with Apple's line of business?"

Apple has a very good record selling hardware even if they are not able to make a working product. for example, the iPhone antenna issue. native processing can only accomplish so much that at some point external dsp hardware is necessary to exceed these limitations in audio processing.

I already made a request to Apple about what I think Logic Pro 10 should include.
Better Audio overall like PT9.
Capacity to change Color themes like DP7 and REAPER (AN outstanding DAW for $40. developed by 3 guys. Download it for free for 30days and see.
So if Reaper can do it why can Apple ?
More friendly External MIDI set up (It is messy), I don't need the environment window with very small arrows. Make it big and simple.
MAke so that the system is NOT overloaded when I run a single audio file on a fast disk on a MAc PRO QUAD 2.93GHZ. WITH 8 GIG OF RAM.
Best of luck.
