Don't want to use a Passcode and Don't want Picture Frame!

It is a mystery to me why these two things are tied together. I've read that to disable the Picture Frame feature, you can turn it off through the Passcode setting. True. BUT - if you want to turn Passcode off, the Picture Frame automatically turns on again. Can someone please explain how to completely remove or deactivate the Picture frame without having to enter a Passcode every time I want to use the iPad. This is definitely a design flaw and a nuisance. Thanks in advance.

This is exactly what I feel. I'm with gotham girl and bernardfromsydney: that flower icon cannot be disabled on an ipad2 that is not jailbroken.I don't like not being able to control what's on my screen, and sometimes I do touch the icon by mistake and then the slideshow is off and running. I've left feedback for Apple and I hope others will do that as well.

look, all of you

the ones saying suck it up and deal with it or report it to apple, are half right.

we should take it up with apple

however, downplaying the severity of someone's complaint is not gonna make it any better either

to the ones with the issue, i feel your pain

you want to easily access your ipad with a slide but dont want to see or worry (having kids around or just public is a risk. it just is people so deal with that)

HOWEVER

if you have pics on your ipad you dont want people to see, its not that hard to find the photos icon, hence why they made it part of the passcode options.

if ya have stuff thats private apple thinks, protect the whole ipad with a code

simple

thats how apple tends to work

and i fell your pain as well on the fact that a simple thing like this on such an innovative and customizable device is rather annoying, especially for the price we pay.

again, HOWEVER aside from "doing something frowned upon by apple" to your ipad, OR

reporting it as a complaint so (maybe) the next update includes an option Outside of the passcode

there is NOTHING anyone here can do.

report it, or, google it.

lastly, would you go to JVC's website forum asking people for help on how to make your JVC DVD player stop flashing 12:00 ???

no

so what are ya doing here?

Google it.

my original response was alot less "nice" so much so that it was banned before it made it live.

some of these people on this board are whats known as "trolls"

google it

they sit around waiting for someone to ask a question and then make them feel stupid.

happens millions of times a second.

take the grain of truth from the web and forget the rest.

autoreject that 😉

Here's a workaround that worked for me (I don't really use the picture frame function):

- Add a pic to your iPad that you wouldn't mind people seeing, or create a pic that is plain black or exactly the same as your lockout screen

- In Photos, create a new album/camera roll (named "lockout screen" perhaps) and add that pic to it

- Go to Settings, Picture Frame, then choose "Albums", and choose your new album ("lockout screen")

Now the flower icon will only show that pic.

Don't want to use a Passcode and Don't want Picture Frame!
