Can't buy free apps with an account without a creditcard?

My version of the App Store (Version 1.0.2 (63.1)) has no option for "NONE." What next?

I have the same problem. There is no option for "NONE".

I was trying to help out a friend and used my account info on his iPhone to get a free app, and it wants payment info. How ******* lame is that. I am really glad I have my HTC Andriod, since it reqiures no payment info for FREE APPLICATIONS. Keep it up apple. Maybe more will find "other" phones that don't require payment info for FREE items.

What I wound up doing was establishing an entirely new iTunes account using one of my other e-mail addresses. When establishing a new account, you can find the "None" option for payment.

Of course, this procedure also sets up yet another account name and yet another password that one has to deal with.

The "NONE" option will only appear if you choose United States as your country when creating new Apple ID.

I chose united states as my country and i used my e mail adress but still! The option "none" didn't appear! What can i do?

And i tried to enter a credit card number but the postal code was always false!

By the way! What do you think about semi jail breaking? Is it good? Can i remove it if i do it?

I used a different e-mail address to establish an entirely new and separate Apple account. I got the "None" option when establishing that second account.

If you do have only one e-mail address, now may be the time to get a second. There are ways to get free e-mail accounts. For historical reasons I have free accounts with AOL and Gmail.

You need a credit card in order to download free applications IF you have set up your App Store account that way. If you want to download free applications without using a credit card, you have to set up a new account with a different e-mail address.

where is the none option please .....i spend hours to do that and thanks
