Apps will not download

I have 3 downloading apps that are in the "waiting" mode in my dock. They have not downloaded any data at all - they've been in this state for over two hours now.

I have two other computers on the same network that have downloaded the same apps within seconds.

I've tossed cookies, restarted the app store, restarted the computer….what else can I do? Any app I try to download on this one computer just seem to "wait" forever with no activity.

Help?

Thanks

I had this problem today and I just fixed it. Here is what I did:

1. Open iTunes and click on your Apple ID in the top right.
2. Log in and click on View Account.
3. Update credit card and billing information (mine had some minor errors).
4. Open the App Store and log in.
5. Purchases automatically started downloading correctly.

I suspect that you can also update your Apple ID via Safari and Apple.com (as was mentioned by a previous poster).

This issue appears to be related to your Apple ID. I think that the two key issues people have seen today are not accepting the new license terms (downloading an iOS app in iTunes will fix this), and some sort of billing issue in the Apple ID. Try updating your credit card and see if it works.

So are you guys by any chance on a network where you're required to VPN to connect to the internet? I'm at school and to use our wireless network we have to connect through a VPN. I've been having the same problem trying to download apps from the store and I thought that might be a problem (the app store in iOS doesn't work over VPN).

Anyways, I plugged my laptop into the wired network (which doesn't require the VPN to connect). As soon as I tried it on that network and it works completely fine. As soon as I switch back to the wireless I get the same waiting message... Maybe it's the VPN or maybe it's the wireless network itself?

Well, still no luck here either. After fiddling with this all day I've tried all of the suggestions in this thread, and many of my own, I have 4 apps just sitting in waiting limbo.

Some of you have mentioned an issue with accepting terms and conditions on other devices before installing the update for the mac app store. I did not accept T & C elsewhere. I accepted the updated T&C the first time I tried to download an app from the mac app store this morning (chopper 2). I specifically recall going through the whole process, and checking the box accepting the terms.

I sure wish someone could crack this one….

Thanks,

An FYI to MOST of the users in this thread. It's an Internal Server Error (error 500) which is occurring. No matter what YOU do, or don't do, it won't matter unless you can magically fix Apple's server by changing your username or account information. Justsaying.

If it's an Error 100 that you're seeing. Exit the App Store and Log out of your account. Log back in and open the App Store again. If that does not work. Reboot your computer and you should now be good to go.
