iPad Virus

Not sure if this is the right place for this question but as a new user I am unsure where to post it.

Anyway to the problem! I bought my wife an iPad for Xmas and she has been using it pretty much everyday since with no problems. However last week she suddenly started getting blank pages when accessing an app through the internet! This has now spread from the particular app and is now affecting Safari. From a bit of research it appears that this is the "Aboutblank!" virus. There is a lot of discussion on the net about this but not much on how to get rid of it.

My macbook which I used to get the iPad running is fine and the iPad was great until she uploaded this app.

Question is: Is this the first instance of a virus on the iPad? How the heck do we get rid of it? Went to my local Apple store and they were no help at all! Is it a virus at all? I thought all apps would be screened to prevent virus infection?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have just deployed 27 iPad 2's. Now all of a sudden, my communications department is worried that we can get a virus on the ipads and then propagate it to the network via VPN. So basically all my users got cut off from our network....

I know this isn't possible due to the sandbox the apps run in on the ipad, and the fact that you can only load apps fromt the Apps Store or Itunes.

I have read there are Apple White Papers discussing this and need to find them, anyone know where they are? I am having no luck searching and getting the info.

Thanks for the help

I 'm not sure if this was a virus or just some random website issue that happened, but I thought I'd mention it to everyone here...

Safari decided to randomly redirect my iPad to a p0rn website today... I had to do some digging through my router logs to determine the source of the problem, but it looks like it was a random incident and not anything to be worried about, but it seemed worth mentioning.

I am doing a full restore and update on the iPad to fix whatever problem it might be, and I also blocked the websites IP via my router's firewall.

Can anyone else let me know it something similar happens to them so I can do more digging...
