cod4 punkbuster issue

Looks like I spoke too early. When I tried to login my favorite COD4 server this morning and it was a success. However, there weren't any players online for an obvious reason. When I tried again this afternoon when it was filled with players, PB kept kicking me out? This doesn't make sense at all.

I can't use PBSetup because my iMac is running Lion OS and I've already filled out a help ticket at evenbalance.com No response yet....

I'm just going to confirm what Dan-o posted. The pbsec.htm file gets deleted every time you are kicked from a server. I have re-installed PunkBuster 3 different times. Though I run Lion, I still have a copy of Snow Leopard with Rosetta on a secondary drive. So I boot that up and run the installer.

I have deleted the pb install. Reinstalled. Connected to the servers I usually play. On a couple, I can play for a few minutes. On some, I get kicked as soon as I'm in game.

In each case pbsec.htm gets removed/deleted.

I've opened a support ticket with Even Balance and updated with details about the files installed and events recorded. Hopefully, they will get the files updated correctly.

I have the same problem. I updated PB manually, opening the app package and putting in the PB folder the .htm files, but the server still kicking me with legend "You must update your PB".

In my case the files still there after kick...

My original PB files are with the extension .mac I don't know if I will have to delete them or I have to change the new ones .htm files extension to .mac I tried everything, but I am stilling have the same problem.

The only way will be sending a lot of mails to PunkBuster support or something like that.

Same problem here, i5 imac 10.6.8..

Closest I got was deleting pb folder and updating using pbsetup, got to play for 30 seconds then kicked for pb ini fault(or something like that....)

Have also filled a support ticket with Even Balance....

PB kick me after 5 min online in every serveurs !! Even after having updated my folder ...

I think COD 4 forget macusers !

I think it's PunkBuster Cia. who have forgotten mac users.

They didn't forget Mac users. They did create update files for us. They just didn't test them very well.

I submitted a ticket 2 days ago (15 May), and until now no answer from Even Balance. Guess they are too busy fixing this... not!

I would be very surprised if any of us receive a single response from Even Balance within the next 30 days. They (and by extension Aspyr, who is a licensee this half-assed way of securing online games) forgot about us a long time ago. When they released Pbsetup 1.3. 😉

It's happening to everyone on a Mac....most everyone is runnung Intel by now. Aspyr is on top of it and apparently so is EvenBalance.

Ok, this worked for me:

Download the following file:

http://web1.evenbalance.com/downloads/cod4/mc002301.mac

After the file is downloaded place it into the install path
>pb/dll folder.

Finally! 😁

It's working for me too! Hooray!

It seems it worked also with me. I did it and I whent into a server and it seems ok.

I will let you know also when I will try to play for more time what will happen.
