Epson Printer Drivers v2.5.1 for Mac OS X v10.6 error

i've seen that many got issues with the updates for printers scanners etc.well i did this standalone update Epson Printer Drivers v2.5.1 for Mac OS X v10.6 & murdered my scanner . epson perfection 3590 photo. i cannot scan & i cannot fix it by myself .any suggestions please . is there a way to uninstall the update ?thank you

2.16 intel core 2 duo imac5.1, Mac OS X (10.6.5), iBook G4 933 Panther not working but I'll fix it one day

You can uninstall the update by removing the /Library/Printers/EPSON folder in your home directory and the /Library/Caches/Epson folder. After doing this and removing the scanner from Print & Fax Prefs, try running the update again, restarting, and re-adding the scanner.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED:

besides the folders

/library/printer/epson
/Library/Caches/Epson

you have to delete in

library/image capture

all that stinks like Epson.

then:

.) install the epson scanner software from the epson website
.) download http://www.twain.org/mac/TWAINfor_Mac_OS_XSDK.dmg.bin
.) copy "Libraries/TWAIN Source Manager.Shlb" out of the diskimage TWAIN for_Mac_OS_XSDK.dmg.bin to "Macintosh HD\System\Library\CFMSupport" (overwrite existing file)

and
install the Epson ica drivers
13969epson.dmg

Then reboot, and everything should be like before the update!

I hope this workaround will be helpful for all 2.5.1 issues!

A good place to go is
/private/var/log

and open "install.log"

and watch and laugh all about the silly things that were done to the system in history!
