can you help me I dont undrstand what to do
llMITYll solution worked, but it got reset again.
I had to change my DNS to OpenDNS
1. System Preferences
2. Network
3. Under Wi-Fi connected select Advanced...
4. Under DNS, select + and add these two DNS Servers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
5. Select OK to close the window. Select Apply
+1. Thanks, PowerOnPlay. I couldn't understand why the store didn't seem to be causing problems for most other people, per Twitter, and had worked for me until recently. Frankly, I still don't understand why I should have suddenly developed a DNS issue... but I don't care, because your advice fixed it.
i just bought my macbook air (128gb, version 10.9.5) for a month and i have no idea what happened to my mac. i didn't install anything more since the day i bought this mac. yesterday when i want to download Skype for my mac, i can't open app store. and when i try to open other application like Photo Booth, messages, pages, numbers, and keynote, they also doesn't work at all. when i click them, my screen just give me a flash of light then nothing changes. i already restart this mac a few times but still doesn't work! please help me to open those application!!:( i need to do my work immediately!:(
!!!PLEASE HELP ME!!!!😟
where do you type those?
Thanks PowerOnPlay, this worked when all other suggestions failed 🙂
Worked for me, also. THANKS!
Finally I've managed to get pass the "checking for updates" turning wheel after 2 days! The input for Terminal really works, thank you very much! Only I had to restart my mac to get it to work.
Thanks again!
I don't find this file in Yosemite:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist
I deleted the other two files, but still have the problem of the App Store loading permanently.
PowerOnPlay you save me, how did you know about the DNS?
This worked for me too!!! Thanks llMITYll
I tried everything with the rm -rf solution and NOTHING worked. I signed out of iTunes, tried authorizing the computer, signed in and out of iCloud half a dozen times, removed DNS servers, punched the screen 2 times, connected to a different Wi-Fi network, creating a script running the rm -rf commands and clicking the run button 5 dozen times, quitting the app store, connected to a VPN, deleting my cache folder, restarting my computer, and NOTHING worked. My Wi-Fi is very fast (8059 kilobytes/second), so it isn't a Wi-Fi problem. I think it is because my computer can't connect to iCloud for some reason… I am using OS X 10.11.2. I am just so fed up with this problem.
This Helped Me Too Thank You Heaps
