Printing Problem with 10.6.6

On computers running 10.6.6, we can no longer print to older network printers (HP Laserjet 6MP and Xerox 340ST) that are not recognized by Bonjour. We keep receiving the message "Network host '[printer name]' is busy; will retry in [5, 15, 20] seconds...", but it never prints. Other computers on the network that use earlier OSs can print to these printers just fine.

Does anyone know what would cause this and how to correct it?

hi,
it's unbearable, i try to find an answer somewhere but since the last automatic MacOSX 1.6.6 update, my wifi printer lexmark impact S305 Series only works with the USB cable.
Can not operate the wireless connection, I haven't change anything in the machine. I tried resetting the drivers updated 3 times, and nothing works.
I spent three hours on the phone with Lexmark support, which has still not been able to debug the problem. It told me that the problem comes from Apple update for mac. Lexmark tried to modify something as a root single user, i dont understand what they tried to do but my printer dont run in wifi mode.
It's not serious, Apple setup updates mac devices that are screwed up and dont give any solution anywhere, not a message from Apple, not a lexmark information on this site and I found no explanation for solving the problem.
What should i do? is there a solution anywhere? Thanks every body.

If they really tried to change things as root, then they're doing stuff they really shouldn't be doing. Playing around with root is Not A Good Idea. if something is sufficiently broken as to require playing with root, then the vendor is Doing Something Wrong. This is especially apparent when other vendors drivers (Brother, for example; Seiko-Epson for another) do not break.

hi, thanks for your help but i'm sorry to tell you that nothing works at all with this printer... it is unacceptable, I'm down for almost three months, the support lexmark tried everything over the phone, nothing works on this subject and course Lexmark as its vendor, refused to recall the printer that is guaranteed. What should i do now? I have a wifi printer that doesn't not work without any solution to solve the problem...

Yes i'm sure you're right, but Apple & Lexmark should work to resolve the problem. Instead of it, they let their customers loosing weeks and months without acknowledging their obvious incompetence. We have to spend time over the web to try to find a solution that doesn't exist! They should find urgently a solution cause thousands of users met the same problem, i think this is the only way. The solution in the following video doesn't work at all... Thanks for your help.
