iPhone error 1013 host file solution does not work!

iPhone 3gs, not jailbroken or unlocked. I've restored on 6 different computers, i tried editing the host file in many different ways that people have suggested. Still nothing. Nothing pulls it out of recovery either. I'm beginning to think error 1013 also means hardware cuz absolutely NOTHING is working. I've also checked my firewall settings and all is fine because i can restore my iphone 3g to 4.2.1 no problem on ALL computers that have given me 1013 error. Any ideas before i throw this at a brick wall? And no i dont have warranty so apple cant help me out.

I have been struggling with the 1013 recovery loop for quite a while. I have an iPhone 3G that is about 3,5 years old and that has never been jailbroken. I think that I have found and tried all possible solutions that are available on the web. Nothing worked for me. The thing that solved my problem is something that I did not find on the web. Therefore my post here. Maybe it can help someone else too.

My solution: I replaced the battery by a new one.
