Verizon iphone 4.... trying to add custom ringtones to phone...

Just received my New Iphone, yay!! Having some difficulties though adding ringtones and assigning them to my contacts. It will only allow me to add 1 custom ringtone so when I go to contacts it lists that 1 ringtone and the other standard tones.. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help..

Is the ringtone available when selecting Ringtones under Library in the iTunes source list?

It must be available there first.

If so, is the ringtone available under the Ringtones tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?

If yes, do you have Sync Ringtones selected under the Ringtones tab for your iPhone sync preferences along with the custom ringtone below selected?

I created 14 custom ringtones -- they're in my ringtones library and every step was correctly done. They all show up for syncing and are all checked, but no matter how many times I've tried, only four will actually move to my Verizon iPhone.

Ideas??

And I'm also frustrated by not being able to make texting ringtone choices for different people.

If everything was done 100% correct w/o any errors of any kind and only 4 move over, if you remove those 4 will 4 different ones move over. Is the issue that the ringtones are not moving or is it that the phone is accepting the quantity of 4 only.

As for Text Tones, it has been a long request w/o any resolve from Apple, totally unsure why, it seems like a very desired and simple implementation, but yet they don't offer it. Keep requesting it and maybe one day we will get it.

I to had the same experience until I read where you convert your mp3 files inside of ITunes to the ACC files then rename to the correct file extension of .m4r, once that is done you should point ITunes to the new files you created ( I placed all the newly created files into a folder named ringtones then added that folder to the library). I have added 22 created ringtones to my IPhone and have assigned them to the intended contact.
