Verizon iPhone Bluetooth audio issues (2010 Prius).

My wife upgraded her Verizon Droid Eris to an iPhone 4 yesterday and is very happy with the upgrade, except for one thing. Upon pairing the phone to her 2010 Prius (IV), she cannot seem to get any decent audio in and out of the phone through Bluethooth.

Her voice (speaking out) and anyone talking breaks out for every other word and make it incredibly difficult to have any coherent conversation. And then the BT connection to the car just breaks and doesn't recognize the passcode when we try to reconnect (I have to reset the phone, etc. for it to work again).

As terrible as the Eris was, this was one thing it did well and we had never experienced any BT audio issues.

Any advice? Thank you in advance.

I am having similar issues. Ver Iphone 4 (4.2.8) and Chevy Equinox LTZ. I have no problems pairing the phone and it syncs bluetooth each and every time I start the car. The really annoying thing is about 50-75% of the time when I make or receive a call through the GM bluetooth system, the called or calling number will briefly show, then change to PRIVATE CALL and wallah, no audio...I can't talk to them, they can't hear me, I cannot use the disconnect button on the steering wheel to disconnect. I have to get the phone out, unlock it, go to phone app (General Motors is checked and it shows to be connected, but) I have to choose audio source and go to Speaker (assuming of course the person on the other end of the line is still there by this time and I haven't swerved into oncoming traffic) then I can talk to them with the speaker, just NOT through the GM system on the car. It is making me very angry that I have "upgraded" to Iphone 4 from Blackberry Tour which worked perfectly, all the time in my car. Been to GM (no bluetooth updates or issues with my car), Verizon (it's clearly an IOS issue and the bluetooth connectivity between phone and car). I was about to go to Apple store, but I think it will be a waste of time.

It sounds like to me I have to just be patient and wait for IOS 4.3 for Verizon Iphone 4 and HOPE that it fixes the problem.

I am certain this is a IOS issue since the wife's Iphone 4, bought at the same time as mine (except hers is white) will display similiar issues with the UConnect in her Chrysler 300C. Most of the time her phone and UConnect will simply not work.

Apple.....Are you listening???????

You know how I can tell I don't think Apple is listening? Well I just signed up/onto this discussion and dutifully went to put in the info on my "stuff"....and guess what? Well you can select Ipad, which I have, and the latest ios listed is 4.2.2 but my Ipad is on 4.3.3. And Iphone 4??? Well, it doesnt list 4.2.8 ( closest is 4.2.7 which I think is an ATT build). No Verizon builds. So, that leads me to the conclusion Apple isn't bothering to check any of these forums and get on the stick to fix our issues. <sigh>......

This is not a Verison iPhone issue.

I have an ATT Iphone4. I have to reboot the bluetooth EVERY SINGLE TIME to connect to my Jabra speakers or my Hundai. This means rebooting it 3-4 times a day. I went to the the genious bar and they were absolutely cluless. They said they never heard of a problem like this. They had me reset all my network data which got rid of all my saved passwords but nothing changed.

Any help is appreciated, this is pretty ****** for Apple

I have a new Verizon iPhone 4s that I've finally managed to pair with the Bluetooth in the wife's Toyota Sienna 2007. It was frustrating process, as the phone kept trying to pair automatically but something was amiss. Finally, when all else failed, I got out the Nav system manual and discovered that I need to push a Register button on the Nav screen (about 3 screens drilled down from "Info"). This sent a signal to the phone and it appears to be all set, no codes had to by inputted. A test call from the car to my wife's cell went through fine (we could both hear each other). Hope I don't confront the many issues that others have posted about. Good luck all.
