iTunes freezes after upgrading to Windows 7 SP1 German

Hey there,
since Microsoft has released Windows 7 SP1 x64 today, I've installed this update. Now after booting and starting iTunes, the iTunes window pops up, but the covers do not load and iTunes doesn't react at all. Now when I disconnect my iPhone 4 it immediately starts reacting again. When I then connect my iPhone it freezes again. Though when I start playing some music and then connect the iPhone, the music keeps running. I do have the same Problem when I attach an iPod touch instead of the iPhone!
Any Help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Dennis

Since I haven't seen it posted here and since it worked for me, it could be a firewall issue. Specifically, Zone Alarm had a known issue that causes these problems. Uninstall Zone Alarm, and your issues may be fixed. Here are a couple links to look at:

Supposedly the latest version of Zone Alarm fixes the problem, but I haven't been daring enough to try it out yet. What a headache.

iTunes 10.4.1 'almost' fixed the problem! It works much better than previous versions. It sometimes still hangs during sync for a short amount of time, but then continues (when it used to fail). Feels like it is retrying on error. It worked astonishingly long and was 'almost' able to sync the entire library or even do a restore... - but in the end it still failed with the same old sync error.

Bad news. Installing iOS 5.0.1 (wired) via iTunes 10.5 again failed (an unknown error occurred)! But syncing and restoring from backup does work. Looks like part of the relevant fixes are implemented in the iOS itself (not only in iTunes). So everything works fine when current iOS is running, but the problems remain when loading new firmware (recovery mode)...

Some Win7 64 SP1 problems still exist! During my last iTunes/iPhone backup Windows crashed (automatic reboot) when the backup tried to transfer the purchases. That seems to be still a driver problem.

Not only the backup session failed (crash), unfortunately there are two much worse problems which are unrelated and probably could be fixed easily:

1) After the crash the iPhone was corrupted! All computers (also Macs) said "iTunes cannot read the contents of your iPhone. Please go to ... and restore." It's really a shame that the backup/sync process is obviously not transactional and can result in a corrupted iPhone!

2) After I restored the firmware, I tried to restore the backup. iTunes said "Estimated time remaining...." and then said "iTunes cannot restore the backup XYZ because the backup does not exist"! Meaning that similar to the iPhone, the backup on the PC is also corrupted and unusable! Which could easily be avoided if iTunes copied the backup before starting the process.

I somehow can understand having difficulties dealing with Win7 drivers, but the other two problems are pure logical ones and should be corrected to provide users with reliable software which is suitable for business use.
