Upgrading the processor

Hello,

I have the 27inch imac i3. Is it possible to get the processor upgraded to the i5 or i7 if I take it to apple. Is it as easy as just changing the processor or does the chipset/motherboard need upgrading as well?

+"Although this is somewhat amusing, I am done wasting my time. You can stop now."+

This the second time your done responding and wasting your time. However, your misinformation does more than waste readers time, it can also "waste" their money by telling them their warranty is void, when in fact it isn't.

+"I didn't say anything about opening the back (I was referring to the labels on parts contained inside). I wouldn't — because: you do not open the iMac via the back. You did know that, of course? The only access is via the screen which is the front of the iMac."+

Sorry, never claimed to be an Apple Genius or AASP, just a former Apple Retail manager with actual knowledge of how Apple Warranties and Apple Care actually work. You can continue to repeat all the misinformation you want and continue to potentially cost readers their hard earned $$$. Of course you could also actually do some research and find out that I'm correct in what I write.
