Music stops when screen turns off after 1.1 update

Hi,
Just after the update, my 6th gen nano won't let music files playing entirely, and i have to restart it every time i change music. This is not a headphone problem (i saw the other thread and it has anything to do with it). This definitely happens when the screen turns off, not when i shut down the ipod.
Can we find a solution for it ? this is the first time i am very disappointed, because its a MAJOR issue.
thanks to anybody for the help

By the way all you guys freaking out about this, go to home screen. click settings. go to music. go to the sleep/wake button section. change double clikc for: to Play/Pause. Now when you wanna listen to songs, click power button 1nce to put in sleep mode, then double-click power button really fast once in sleep mode to unpause your song and resume listening. lol, i figured this out 2 days after 1.1 update.. 😝

Good afternoon and merry christmas for everyone. I have to say im very ****** off with that same problem.

And before you start saying its a plug conection problem, I tell you that i´ve tried like 5 headsets and today i went to meet a technician in an apple store. he didnt have a clue of what was talking about and thats weird because so many people is having here the same problem.

THE MUSIC STOPS AFTER SCREEN TURNS OFF

After all the checks, he told me that may be a hardware problem and I would have to pay 75 dollars for a new one (because my guarantee expired) I find that insane coming from aproblem WITH THE NEW UPDATES, because my ipod was working perfectly before I updated it.

Now... EVEN if i have a hardware problem, I didnt have it before the update, which means, ITS AN APPLE PROBLEM. The technician told me that the new Software couldt have caused the Hardware problem. I do get that, but what I understand is that the new software creates MY problem.

I´m going to say what other people already said:

APPLE NEED TO FIX THAT! Even cancelling the new "DETECTION SYSTEM" or the "TURN OFF SYSTEM"

Because the technician already checked it, I dismissed the plug problem but I still hoping to find another solution and may be you can help me.

Im going to try finding the 1.0 software that has not the "detection system" It may look simple but i cannot find it; if any of you could drop me a link, I will appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks also, BUT, this only allows me to hear my music again, however, it turns off my favorite and most used feature of being able to double click to the next song. I have a lot of different genres and don't always feel like hearing everything that comes on and it's far too inconveinient to unclip it, turn the screen on and go to the next piece. Very unhappy>>updates are supposed to be an improvement not a setback.

I had this problem just now. I thought it was from when i cracked the display, cause i had no issues prior to that. I actually carved half a milimeter from the plastic on the jack input to allow the headset to enter more inside the ipod's hole. Sounds strange, but it was a connection problem.\

My headsets are Samsung (Apple's are busted)
