Wired Magic Trackpad

Does apple have any intentions of making a wired version of the Magic Trackpad? I've seen many postings making this request on the internet (for saving on batteries, not wanting to use wireless devices, etc) and think that this would be very popular. I would like one =) Any news of this being in-development?

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Thanks for your suggestions, and to WilsonLaidlaw too. Guess I'll have to look into those. I may just need the ergonomic touchpad that someone else mentioned. But I was hoping for one that had a glass or nonplastic surface, now I have to look into finding out exactly what kind of plastics those are made of.

I think that a decent wireless trackpad is made by Logitech with a glass surface. and it is about $20 on sale.. I can't believe there are so few wired options at such affordable prices.

I was talking to my computer lab supervisor at my college about getting some trackpads, but due to being wireless and no way to secure them, they're not going to get them. GET ON THE BALL APPLE, WE WANT TO BUY THESE BUT YOU NEED TO MAKE THEM WIRED AND SECURABLE.
