MacBook Pro 2011 17" hard freeze

Just want to make sure, which browser did you use in the web test, which test did you try? and what is the setting in the test?

Yes, optical means the cd-rom controller. Are you experiencing any freezing problems?

Operating temperature means the temperature requirement of your room/place that you can operate your computer without problem

And Hokoonho says your freezing is not because electrical problems, heat problems, etc.. so I guess its just magically freezing for no reason what so ever.

The hanging at boot is technically not a freezing problem. That's a boot failure. Nevertheless, he should reimstall OS X like you and I both suggested.
