Army Knowledge Online (AKO)

I'm in the Ohio National Guard, and when I'm not drilling I am a Graphic Designer for my normal job. When I came into contact with AKO I said to myself "well this feels like Army". I have never seen such a terrible network site as AKO. They try to do so much but you can tell its just a bunch of nerds setting up and overwhelmingly secure website and they never thought "Hey will this even be user friendly?" For the level of traffic this system gets its amazing the lack of quality this thing has. I wish that the high and mighty "leaders" of this thing would send this to Apple to do their magic. Apple has shown you can get all the security without compromising Elegant Design, Costumer Service, and Ease of Use. This is a cry from the lower working soldier to Apple... Here is an algoritm for remember a long password.

make up a sentence.

The little green men came form Mars on Farm Road 1 in region 5.

Taking the first letter of each word, your password would be

TlgmcfMoFR1ir5

I'd write down the password & place it in a secure place.

You can run Windows on an Intel Mac.

Don't miss the free VirtualBox.

"VirtualBox is a general-purpose full virtualizer for x86 hardware. " Runs Windows on Mac OS.

The problem with AKO from what I see and experience is that AKO is designed for IE/Windows. If security is the sticking point then, Windows OS is definitely NOT the way to go as far as AKO is concerned. Apple OS security is 100x better than Windows and, Apple has also made it easier for their users to regain most of their Windows access through Boot Camp while retaining the benefits of Apple security. C'mon Army, lets get with the program !

Their website is cluttered and not simple but that's our only option and, the Army knows this. :-(
