iTunes 10.2.0.34 Takes Forever To Sync

I just installed iTunes 10.2.0.34 and it now takes about 15 minutes for my iPhone 4 (OS 4.2.1) to sync.

The problem seems to be step 5 (Syncing Photos). The window at the top of iTunes switches from "Syncing Photos" to "Preparing To Sync" then takes about 15 minutes to finish. I have 9,046 photos and 3,105 songs on my iPhone.

While syncing my iPhone my PC (Win7 64) is slowed to a virtual crawl!

I just did that, with no luck. That wouldn't cause Itunes it self to messup with out anything plugged in would it? I get the problem with my ipod connected and not connected. The main issue for me is it locks up for 2-5 minutes some times for starting a video or doing Home Sharing or connecting my Ipod. It never had any issues until I did this update. I tried it on another PC running XP and it ran fine until I installed 10.2. It might just be me, but I don't know.

Please add my name to the list. I get the "Preparing to Sync" message when it's time to sync my photos and my computer slows to a crawl... my IE freezes up and it takes sooooo long to complete the sync.

Downloaded and installed the 7601usbfix.exe file in the link. After three reboots and Norton saying it had been disabled (it came back after the second reboot) this fix had no effect whatsoever. Too bad.

It has to 10.2 I just downgraded and everything is back to normal. Only thing it I had to use Revo to uninstall itunes. I uninstalled I tunes and installed the old version (10.1) and it claimed to still have 10.2. I used Revo and uninstalled all the reg files and everything and reinstalled 10.1 and it's back.. I hope they fix this issue soon. I contacted Apple through e-mail about it and they claim it's my computer. I just replied that I had the problem, then formated my computer and reinstalled 10.2 with the same issues on a fresh install, also installed it on another computer all with the same results.. I haven't heard back from them yet..

I uninstalled SP1 and downloaded the iso file to reinstall did the trick now works as it should

Just adding myself to the list of discontent on this issue. Updated to 10.2 and now iTunes takes FOREVER to sync my iPhone and iPad, either of which used to take only a convenient moment to the job. Surely so simple, but now such a hassle. Grrr...

I just downloaded 10.2.1 (just came out today) and going to install it. I hope this fixes the problem.

iTunes 10.2.1 was just released.
From what others are saying, it resolves this syncing issue.

Nope.. It's worst. I don't know if it's cause of the service pack 1 on windows 7 or not. But I had the same problems when I installed 10.2 on a XP machine. 10.1 didn't have the problems. I guess I need to head back to 10.1

I installed iTunes 10.2.1 and it has completely resolved my issue. My iPhone sync in under two minutes. Thanks!

Likewise - I installed iTunes 10.2.1 and the problem disappeared. Then I installed iOS4.3 on my iPad and my iPhone after which both devices took a VERY long time to sync as all my photos seemed to be getting re-formatted for some reason. Second sync they seemed to be quick again. Anyway, problems seem to be resolved for me.

Same problem here. I sync every morning since iPhone STILL doesnt support an easy way to update all podcasts but that's a whole other problem.

Used to sync quickly. Now takes at least 3 times as long since updating to 10.2... Please fix Apple.
