How to Remove an Audio Device

I installed 'Boom' on my 11" MBA to increase the volume on low level sources. It worked, but used an unacceptably large amount of CPU. I uninstalled it in the usual way, however I am left with an audio device called 'Boomdevice' (visible in the Audio MIDI setup utility). This doesn't seem to be affecting anything, but I would like to get rid of it. Does anyone know how?

Thank you.

Thank you TheAppleChamp! This worked for me to get rid of the Wondershare audio device, which was a remnant of something I downloaded to try and record a streaming web player when my song was featured on the local Austin NPR station. I can't remember what the program was called, but i deleted it long ago and have not been able to remove that wondershare audio device. Until today!!!! Thanks again!

Do you have a link to "Boom-Preferences-Uninstall". I AM googling for it. 😉

I tried:

"

Thanks 😀 For everyone, click on "Go" in the finder menu, then "Go To Folder" Then copy and paste the following: /System/Library/extensions

Once in the extensions folder locate "Boomdevice.kext" and trash it."

It is not there. I did a "This Mac" Spotlight for "Boomdevice.kext". No results found

Finally I have reboot and restarted more than once for both.

Do NOT install MacKeeper. It is spyware and nearly impossible to remove. If you have uninstalled it already, you may not get the Settings pop-up window. This app is full of bugs.

Run these commands, one-by-one, in the terminal window. If you do not run them all, Boom2Device will re-install itself after a reboot.

sudo kextunload -b com.globaldelight.driver.Boom2Device

sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/BoomDevice.kext

sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/Boom2Device.kext
