Home Sharing drop out with Apple TV2

Just did the updates for i-tunes (10.2.1), ATV2 (4.2), and Ipad (4.3). And what I'm getting is when I stream from the computer using the ipad remote app, music starts then just stops. I go to ATV settings and turn airplay off then back on, then the music start again. Then goes out again. But if I just use the ATV, music, photos, YouTube, movies, etc.. everything works fine. It just when I stream. ATV show strong WI-FI signal. Never had any issues until I did the updates. Tried rebooting ATV, did a restart on the computer. NO GO. I'm thinking it's a home sharing issue but I don't really know. Has anyone else having any problems since the new updates? Or any ideas on what I should try. Any help would be great...
Thanks

Ever since I got the ATV 2, I've been having problems with music dropping out, sometimes after only one song on an album. I have a Time Capsule, and am wondering if, when Time Machine begins a backup, if that has been the cause of the dropouts, so I just turned Time Machine off and will see if this makes any difference. Will report back when I have determined anything.

Same problem here. I am running wireless and my streaming video drops after a few minutes SOMETIMES. Playing the same video the 2nd time does not cause the drop in the same place, so I figure it is a streaming issue and not a video clip issue. Happens with lots of different vid clips and only started recently.

PLEASE FIX THIS APPLE. This is most frustrating. I had an original Apple TV and never had this kind of problem. I realize that the original stored content on the drive and did not stream like the new one.

PLEASE FIX THIS STREAMING PROBLEM

Hi Everyone
Yes, I am having the same problem W/Apple TV2 and the home sharing.
I puchased my 1st Applet TV2 6-7 weeks ago and it was very simple to setup.
I have been watching movies for a month w/o any issues. I purchased a 2nd Apple TV2 for the family room 4 weeks later. Set it up and it prompted for and update, so I updated. The same day Updated my 1st Apple TV2. since then neither stay connect to the home sharing. I have tried everything posted for 2 weeks in these discussions and nothing has work. Finally called tech support and gave them all my info and still nothing a week later. Tech support ask me to try a purchased movie from itunes, I did and it bombed in 20 min. Rebooted the ATV2 and it ran for an 1hr 12 min. Yah I've tried this several times and the time is almost the same every time. This is what I have tried:
iTune: 10.2.1, ATV2 4.2.1(2100)
Rebooted Cable modem
Rebooted Router
Opened ports on router and firewall. (Also turn off all firewalls)
Performed a restore on the ATV2
Turned off home sharing and back on and not clicking on "Done" still disappears in 1 hr 12 min.
all hardwired with cat6 and also tried with cat5 (also tried wireless N)
Tried uplugging one ATV2 at a time and playing a movie, no luck.
an yes I have tried play 2 movies simutaneously and my bandwith never goes over 3%. I believe it's an issue w/Apple.
I hope this gets resolved soon

This is definitely an issue with Apple and Homesharing. Yesterday I did notice that my desktop which actually has iTunes open on it was connecting to my router via wifi even though I had the Ethernet plugged in. So I disabled that connection and my desktop with the iTunes is now hard wired into the router. Weird thing now is that my one ATV2 worked with 2 movies and NO issues during streaming so I thought I fixed it. But, my other ATV2s still have the 5-10 minutes and then lose Home Sharing connection. All of my devices are connecting wirelessly but with FULL bars. Is everyone else connecting to their router wirelessly or through Ethernet on their computer that has the iTunes with the Homesharing? Thought I had it fixed but I guess it is back to the drawing board! Apple needs to get with it...

For what it's worth.... same/similar issue.

Bought ATV2 a week ago. Connected both over wireless (Time Capsule) and later through Ethernet. All has worked fine, home sharing through my iMac. Updated last night on ATV, and no longer Home Sharing. Have restarted everything, tried it with and w/o the Ethernet connection, and a no go. LAME.

Please?

100% wired atv1, atv2, mac mini mid-2010 with airport disabled
-everything worked great until latest atv2 update
after update (all wired)
-atv1 streaming no problems
-atv2 drops 2 mins typical 5 best case

after update (atv2 switched to wifi)
-atv1 streaming still no prob
-atv2 mostly works, drops after like 1.5 or 2 hours, no signal issues

after update (all switched to wifi)
-same as above atv1 no prob, atv2 still mostly works with drops 1.5 or 2 hours

I just want to go back to all wired and actually have it work like it did before this update - which was perfectly.

I have the same problem as everyone else. ATV2 running the latest firmware using 11n wireless over Apple Extreme Base Station. Streaming from my Mac Pro which has a 3TB external drive with all of my media. Every 10 minutes or so the Home Sharing disappears. Please Fix! I really don't want to go back to streaming to my old Mac Mini!

I have 2 black paper weights right now! Sure I can pull up Netflix all day, I never loss Internet connection , but as for home share my computer is a ghost to both ATV in my house. Unless I unplug them and plug them back in, letting them reboot then and only then don they show back up, and even then I will loss it again depending on what I'm doing it will last for 10 ,15, even 56 minutes and 25 seconds one time. I called Apple and let me just add then need to get someone to answer there tech support that knows what there talking about, trying to tell me it's a issue with ATV when it goes to sleep well , that would be great excuse if I didn't already have the sleep mode turned offUser uploaded file So that didn't work and I have tried all the suggestions on this discussion topic still nothing. So then I talked to a Apple Rep today in a store, he tells me apple is aware of the issue and to expect a software update on ATV and iTunes to fix it. My fingers are crossed that I don't have two 200.00 paper weights to throw away.

Been having this problem the last week. Home sharing drops out and cannot find my library even though Home Sharing on and strong wireless signal. Saw a suggestion if you're running Intego software, which I am...NetBarrier X5. Went to place IP address of ATV2 on Trusted list and to my surprise it had already been placed on STOP list automatically after last attempt to connect. I removed from STOP and placed on TRUSTED list and my library came up immediately. Now if I could just get the movie rentals to load at a decent pace all would be well in my AppleWorld!
