XCode 4 installation is stuck

I tried to install XCode several times but it gets stuck every time. By the way I bought XCode in Mac Appstore.
What's the problem?

I don't know if this solves anyone else's problem, but maybe it helps: The installer just errored on me without explanation, but /var/log/install.log mentioned that there wasn't enough free space on my volume (approx 9,5G free). Deleted about 2gigs, and it seems to be installing fine now.

Same here.
I bought mine, which was useless because i am a developer. But anyway, mine is stuck as well.

What do you mean with "a total shutdown?" . You force quit the stalled installer and then shut down the computer and then boot it up and then try to install again?

I have also buy Xcode 4 at Mac App Store and the install is blocked at ± 98%...

Even if you delete the app, the App Store still remembers your purchase. 😉

same here. i am very disappointed. first Xcode4 should be free. 2nd I can't install it. It is my first time to buy a app from Mac store.

But the xcode.app is still version 3.2.5 - not version 4. Annoyingly apple have told me to wait a further 2 weeks before downloading and trying the install again.... hhhmmmmm

Thanks a lot for that iTunesHelper tips. Was stuck same way waiting ITunes to quit in installing Xcode just after Lion.

There is now an update for the iTunesHelper problem available in the App Store. However, it gets stuck too, supposedly because I had to force quit the original installer.
