4.3 SMS Tones - Choo Choo

I love my iPhone 4 but I cannot understand why my favourite sms tone 'choo choo' has been changed by IOS 4.3. Actual functionality has been withdrawn and I'm really annoyed about it. I accept it's only a small change but surely a software update should add functionality, not take it away. I'm a passionate supported of all Apple products, but this change absolutely stinks and I'm furious about it.

MacBook Black, iPhone 4 (4.3), Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I love Choo Choo as much as everyone else here, so I've decided to drum up a quick solution for this whilst Apple hopefully fix it.

1. Let's re-download our favourite little tune here:

2. You'll need iPhone Explorer to put it on the phone. *+No, you do not need a "jailbroken" phone to use this software+.* Just plug your iPhone into your PC via USB and done. Grab a free trial of that here:

http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/

Alternatively, those with "other" iPhones can use iFile to do this all from the iPhone itself.

3. Navigate to " System/Library/Audio/UISounds/"

In iPhone Explorer click your iPhone's name, then "Root", then follow the path above.

4. Drag and drop the new (or old) "Choo_Choo.caf" file and replace that existing rubbish!

5. Reboot and that's it! Enjoy.

Thought I was losing my mind but it turns out I've just lost one choo!

Not good enough Apple, please re-instate my choo, it just sounds so wrong. What on earth is a choo? I don't want an A Choo either.

Hi help please I followed your directions I've downloaded the tone and iPhone explorer but can't seem to find ROOT after clicking on iphone name !

Sorry for the really late reply... but better than never, right?

Anyway... in case you didn't already figure it out... you need to double click your iPhone name (if you are in the drop-down view mode). You should be presented with two options:

1. Apps

2. Root (folder)

Click "Root" and follow the path as above. Done! 🙂

DON'T do this. Messing around with the file system on your phone is a bad idea.

Considering it is listed as Choo Choo in the options - isn't it a trade description issue lol - next thing Apple will remotely remove all the second Choo's from the list!!!
