iPad 2 iMovie

Is there a way to get the video shot on an iPhone 4 to the camera roll on the iPad 2 to use in iMovie, besides the camera connection kit? Syncing through iTunes through Photos only brings pics, not video, and syncing through iTunes through Video brings them to the iPad, but they do not show up in iMovie. Thanks!

Mmmm... What is the whole concept of the iPad 2+iMovie? Record using the rear facing video camera. If you have a video camera that compatible with the iPad that is an added plus. Then edit it with iMovie. Mmmm...

When I take my iPad out-and-about I record videos with both the rear facing camera and a Flip Mino HD camera. (I import the Flip Videos into the iPad, if used.)

After a few hours recording I find a coffee shop to edit the footage and send the video to YouTube/Facebook. I try to make the video less than a minute long. I'm not trying to make an epic film (video). Just something recorded of my out-and-about venture. The whole process of editing and uploading to the Internet doesn't take me more than 30 minutes. (I'm not having to convert videos so that they are compatible with the iPad. What a drag...) I'm out to have fun... record some video... have something to eat and drink.

Use what you got don't add to your misery...

The ONLY reason I got the iPAD 2 was to edit video. Now that I have to walk around like a fool with a IPad2 shooting video this has turned out to be a total waste of money. I'm so disappointed in Apple. I own everything apples makes but I think my buying days are over. I feel the advertising was deceptive and made so many think it was possible. I doubt when the did the big demos when it was being introduced that THAT video was from a iPad either.

I had the same inital reaction you did until I found out here in this forum that all you need to do is convert the video clips to the MOV format, put them in the PICTURES folder, and make sure you check INCLUDE VIDEOS in iTunes. I import my AVI clips directly to a video converter with the PICTURES folder as the destination, and once I do the iTunes SYNC they appear in iMovie!

Chris Trolling was not much help.. This helps thanks.

Still a shame you need a computer to convert the videos first. Might as well just leave the iPad2 at home and not use it really.

The iPAD2 had some serious potential to help a lot of those in media edit and upload videos without the need for remote trucks, up links and many staff involved in the whole process of news gathering. A iPad2 is disposable and easy to take anyplace but turned out to just be toy for now.

If you can plug in a card and read photos, I don't see why you can't or someone will not come up with a way to convert on the fly, video off your camera and import it. I'd pay for it. With more then the iPad 😉
