My 64G Black AT&T ordered at 1:06 AM PDT just changed to Prepared for Shipment

It's deffinently an incosistency thing for me if only people who ordered before me had received their items that would be one thing but I set my alarm and had my order placed by 1:09 and to see that others who ordered identical items three to four hours after me are receiving their items and mine still says not yet shipped makes it a little frustrating

They must be shipping these in waves by size because it seems a lot of 64gb models changed to prepared for shipment this afternoon.

Hey all of you that are having it to be delivered soon what did fedex say on the site as the estimated delivery date while it was still in c Mine is still inbetween lantau island and the states and it shipped yesterday and it says estimated on the 22nd! seriously ***. I ordered 3:06 central time on release day and it's a 64gb verizon model black. Why is mine taking forever. Post what it had said your estimated was and what it actually is so I am not freaking out plz

I don't disagree with you Apple clearly states 3-5 business days. What am I complaining about is why say Apple started taking online orders when they can't ship for 3-5 days. Try Amazon or Apple for any other product and they ship in 24 hours. So why launch something and tell the world it's on sale and available but when you place the order you add in the caveat of 3-5 days.

That all said then be honest when you have supply issues- if you don't have any in the warehouse say so. Don't tell me it takes us time to prepare/pack orders, when they can ship an accessory the next day. So they are really that busy packing orders ?

Hey Apple next time you say your new product is shipping 3/11 put a disclaimer it will take 3-5 days to ship or just publish a real date.

I had a choice I could have planned to go to a store if I had know how pathetic the online ordering is.

that *****, I live in Iowa too and I thought it was bad for my time. I ordered right away though hbu? Also noticed people aren't mentioning about if they had engraving or not which would most likely take additional time to prepare.

Nick, mine was estimated to be delivered between 3/18 and 3/25, and on the FedEx site it says it will be delivered by 4:30 pm on 3/18. It's listed as "at local FedEx facility LANTAU ISLAND HK" since 11:55 PM on the 16th (China time).

By the way, mine was a 16GB WiFi+3G, black, AT&T, engraved, and I ordered at 3:43 AM ET on 3/11.

It seems logical that the Foxconn factory is producing and shipping iPad2s by the storage capacity, and probably according to wether it is Wifi only or includes 3G. This is a guess, I have no inside knowledge on this......I've been monitoring this thread and been feeling very disappointed that my order placed at 1240a PDT on 3/11 for a 64GB white iPad2 3G (AT&T) had remained at "Not Yet Shipped" while other orders (mostly different configurations) had already arrived. As of right now, my order has finally changed to "Prepared for Shipment" with a delivery estimate of 3/18-25. Very happy right now.

If you look at the pattern in this thread (I know, not very scientific and prone to sampling error), it seems like the majority of folks who have already gotten their iPad2s are Wifi only, Black color, and less than 64GB models. Someone earlier speculated that Foxconn is devoting several production lines at a time to output large batches of certain models at a time. Seems like there might be something to that theory. I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that the Verizon 3G models have been shipping sooner because of low demand. Verizon only accounts for about 13% of all iPhone4 users - probably because the GSM model can be used around the world (with some "modification" of course). I loved being able to swap-out the microSIM on my original iPad when visiting my parents in the Philippines last year.

Good luck to everyone still waiting. If you ordered a white 64GB 3G before 1a PDT on 3/11 like me, hopefully you are also seeing some movement in your order as well? Cheers!

it's not time zones what an ignorant thing to say all order times are given in pst it doesn't matter where you live I placed my order at 3:09am cst which is 1:09 pst their orders were placed between 3 and 4 pst

They also probably have lines that are dedicated to filling on line orders and others that are dedicated to be purely resupply chain.

I am a new apple customer never had an ipad or ordered from apple before. To make sure all went smooth i called apple the day before the launch and asked when to call an order. this is where things originally went wrong. i was told they would be open to take orders at 4am PST which the lady advised would be 7am EST for me. So i am off to a bad start. Order completed at 7:15 EST. order said ships in 5-7 busines days. Hoping i get lucky and it ships early but not hopeful. I dont think i will ever order anything from apple ever again. i had all of friday off and could have easily stood in line but on that original phone call as told i would have it with in 3-4 business days to my door. anyone else with prior apple experience is cusotmer service usually wrong and misinformed
