iPad 2 Shipping

Lucky you SuzyQ22, I ordered my 32gb wifi on the 5th as well, but it hasn't even been prepared for shipment yet. It was due to dispatch today, but it's still saying 'not yet shipped', and the estimate has changed to 1-3 business days. 😢

@ DowneMixedBoi - so sorry to hear you finally got it and it had scratches and leakage - that totally *****! I hope they give you something to compensate for all of the waiting and agonizing and then getting a damaged product. 😟

@laurafromgoshen - is your shipping FedEX or UPS? If it is with FedEx, mine says it will come on 5/24, too, but if it does like my case, it came a day earlier (shipped from China via FedEX also), so I am hoping we get them on 5/23. 🙂

BTW, I don't know why, but mine isn't showing up as deducted from my account either, I'm guessing it will get deducted for good when it delivers, maybe?

Apple DID offer me another free accessory for the inconvenience. I almost went for the Red smart cover.. but I already know i'm not into the Smart Covers, so I opted for the AV HDMI adaptor.

I have to give it to Apple.. They already gave me a bluetooth keyboard for changing the estimated delivery date on me from the 21st, to the 23rd. (and the iPad showed up today)

But it's just annoying to know there's nothing that can be done as far as the replacement goes.

My local Apple store is sold out.

So, FedEx came and picked up the iPad already.. It's due back to Apple returns office in Cali on Monday.

Supposedly all DOA replacement orders have priority.

So we'll see how long this takes.

oh man.. is it easy to get an ipad 2 with scratches or light problems?

I got my iPad today! 32GB WiFi only, ordered on May 3rd. Shipped on Sundy, arrived today. UPS's shipping is messed up. It didn't update for 4 days, and when it did update it already in Fort Wayne! It managed to jump from EPZ, China to Fort Wayne, IN overnight. So UPS obviously doesn't use a live update system. Well, good luck to you all, and enjoy your iPads when they do arrive!

I know people who bring their faulty iPads into the stores can get a replacement right then and there, but it's a brown-boxed product, so I'm pretty sure they keep a small stash of replacements here in the states for situations like yours.

Looks like my iPads are coming from Chengdu. Hopefully I'll get them Monday!

Has anyone's iPad shipped from Chengdu, China? All of the posts and screen shots I've seen have had packages going from EPZ to Chek Lap Kok, China.

Any ideas what the next step is for my ipad?

I was getting upset when I noticed that some people who ordered the same day as me or even after had shipped before mine - I don't know if there is any rhyme or reason to the way they are processing these orders and shipping them out - it doesn't seem like it makes a difference whether you have expedited or standard shipping. I saw one person on here saying she & her coworker ordered one the same day (on 5/3 - two days before us) - she paid for expedited shipping and her coworker didn't - her coworkers iPad came on 5/18 before she got hers. I saw where another person who ordered the same day we did received hers yesterday - that less than 2 weeks! It is just crazy to see some people order and receive theirs in 2 weeks, give or take a day, and others waiting longer. I just can't make any sense out of it.

@ DowneMixedBoi - I think they should have let you keep the scratched one until the new one arrived!

@Ventuss - I have only been following this since I ordered mine on the 5th, but I have seen where one other person received one with serious scratches and had to send it back for a replacement. Supposedly they had fixed the backlight bleed problem, so it is kind of upsetting to see someone getting one today that has that problem. 😟

@stevefromohio - Mine is also in the same place as yours, but shipped a day earlier? 😕

I have not seen any others going to Changdu...I wonder if this is a good or bad thing...

@Lord Ikka - Let's hope it's a good thing. 🙂 Good to know someone is in the same boat (or on the same plane).
