I don't think it went back to Beijing because there was never a "Departure Scan" from Beijing, China. It seems as if the L.A. arrival scan and the Beijing departure scan times/dates were mixed up or something to that effect.

Mine is still in chengdu there is a possibility mine is not on your plane.
Ok this is weird ... I checked my tracking info again and it said Chengdu china twice ... as if it never departed.
WHAT IS THIS? I DON'T GET HOW IT DEPARTED FROM CHENGDU, CHINA TWICE!
I just refreshed my tracking info, and I have the same thing. They probably didn't actually depart from Chengu yesterday for some reason. Hopefully this means they actually departed this time.
That's dissapointing ... I was hoping for it to get here soon ... I guess I am going to have to wait ... again
I got mine this morning! I'm actually writing this reply from it. It shipped UPS on the 17th and arrived a week early! Good luck to all those waiting, it is well worth it!!

It takes like 10 - 12 hours (from past experience with apple china) I am pretty sure our iPads will be here by friday 🙂
Mine also just left Chengdu, China for the second time. Maybe the plane circled the airport for an entire day.
Well my bad mood hasn't lasted as long as I thought it would! - luckily timed with a break in my shift pattern there was a knock my door this morning. I bounded down the stairs and found a UPS man just leaving (I think he was presuming there was no one in) Luckily he spotted me and delivered my Apple goodies!
So my ipad 2 has arrived a week earlier than expected - so there is one good thing about not knowing where it was in the world - the surprise when it arrives!
So in summary for UK people -

Just spoke with UPS and apple, now i know why you guys still have the shipments that are still in china or anchorage... they wont release the shipment without the ENTIRE shipment there, so even though it has cleared customs in China, it apparently has to clear customs here too, meaning a possible 4 MORE days. The apple support technician kept saying "we cant do anything till its late (the delivery date on my apple shipping notice is June 23rd (tomorrow)) and then we have to wait 3 business days to launch an investigation, we work vigorisly with the carrier to make sure all packages are delivered". I am tired of freaking delays! I hate UPS!
