iPad 2 Shipping

UPS is terrible! last time my friend ordered something from apple that was sent by UPS the person working at UPS read the "To" address wrong and sent it back to apple thinking it was from my friend to apple.

Anyone from the Chengdu, China group get any updates? I called Apple earlier today and they told me my iPad was scheduled for delivery on Friday, June 24. But my tracking info still says Chengdu.

Hey I ordered a Black engraved 16Gb wifi on Sunday the 12th. Shipping time is 1-2 weeks. Anyone think it'll ship this week?

Nope no update for me either. My tracking info still says Chengdu, China too with no estimated delivery date given. That's good news about your call at least. Hopefully that's the case for everyone. Thanks for the info.

I ordered a White 32Gb Wifi/3G and on Saturday the 18th and it originally indicated it would ship in 1-2 weeks. I just got an email that it is shipping today to arrive on Friday 24th? Also being shipped FedEx to US. I doubt it will get here that quickly, but I am pumped the order processed.

How is it that you're lucky enough to get it shipped by FedEx and it's shipped to you in 2 days and all of ours are shipped by UPS and we have to wait 2 weeks. I don't get it. Maybe Apple knows what's going on with UPS. Either way I am pretty sure it'll be here by friday 😝.

Hi! Been stalking this thread since I ordered mine finally have info to post. Ordered a 62GB Black Wi-Fi with engraving on 6/11. Original ship date 6/30 with arrival date of 7/2. Called about a week ago asking about upgrading shipping. Wouldn't let me pay for it but said they would bump me up to express shipping. After futher discussion what I gleaned was that it doesn't make it come out of China any faster but once it hits the US it will be here in a day. Mine is shipping via FedEx (with a scheduled delivery date of 6/24):

Again how is it that yours gets shipped FedEx. I wanna know why apple alternates between carriers.

I don't know. The final destination is Texas. Two things I did (one I'm kind of embarrassed to admit lol). First, I called Apple and very nicely asked to pay $$ to expedite shipping. Fellow on the phone was very nice and bumped up my delivery to express. As I explained, it only effects the speed once it leaves China and lands in its country of destination.

The 2nd thing I did was send a very short/sweet (again very kind/not ranting) email to Steve Jobs, lol enquiring as to why they don't offer an expedited shipping to those willing to pay. Of course I understand the supply/demand issue but I figured what the heck. Also gave me an opportunity to wish him good health. 🙂

I'm quite sure the second had no effect whatsoever. I do think that calling Apple made a big difference...and being polite as well.

I wish mine would have shipped with FedEx. I have 2-3 day shipping, but it went out with UPS. My order was processed and ready for UPS on 6/20 but it still appears to be hanging out in China. 😟 Anyways, I'm glad you'll be able to enjoy your iPad soon!

When did you order ashlien? Also wondering if my living way out in the country has something to do with it as well. I get UPS and FedEx deliveries here on the ranch but now that I think about it I get a lot more via FedEx. Did you call Apple about expediting shipping? Seems like FedEx is able to move things along quicker than UPS from what I'm reading. Strange. Really do feel for you. I stick my tongue out at those telling us to chill. We want our iPads now! 🙂

I originally ordered 6/10, but I changed my order 6/14. It pushed back original ship date to 6/28, and delivery date to 7/2. Unfortunately, I didn't ask about expediting shipping. I didn't even think about there being delays in the iPad leaving China. (Though I now regret not expediting it.) Also, I think you might be right about your location and FedEx. My grandparents live in rural South Texas and UPS won't deliver there. Enjoy your iPad! 😀

@ashlien mine is the same thing, with the china issue. I am struck with anxiety as I keep pressing the refresh button every 5 minutes to see if it's in anchorage =( . I am so tired of waiting. I think apple should just end their shipment relationship with UPS and stick solely to FedEx, the better of the two. I still keep strong to the fact of it being here by Friday. Otherwise Monday =P.

I got a 16 GB black wifi iPad 2 and yes same thing happened to mine as well...was just hanging out in Chengdu, China for a day....UPS gave me an original delivery date of June 23, (today) however I don't see that happening...hoping for Apple's delivery date of June 24th going to happen...just going to have to wait and see. Good luck to everyone else who is waiting 🙂

9 days after ordering, my Ipad has been shipped. Downunder they use TNT and we are facing troubles with Mrs. Ash Cloud from Chile. So, I'll keep you informed.
