iPad 2 Shipping

This is the case where i live as well. The apple store i go to has had the same woman at the front of the line everyday since last friday. I asked why she was here everyday if she already has an ipad2, which she was playing with as she sat in line and she adivsed me she gets out of work at 1am. stands in line outside the mall. once it opens she waits in line in front of the apple store till it opens then buys two and sells them on ebay. She jokingly told me she has made more money sell ipad2's than she ever has working and said she planned on doing it as long as she could. By the way all the apple reps working know her name and greet her with a friendly smile, and no i still dont have one.

Best Buy had sold out when I got there & I went to AT&T & was told that they had just sold their last one, on going back to my car I saw the same employee come out of the back door of the store and 'nod' at another guy who then approached me and offered to sell me one for $1200. I asked him what was going on with the sales person and he said the salesman was his friend and he made sure he got a couple. I told him what to do with it. This behaviour disgusts me & I will bet this store just sold them all off out the back door. I drove off then came around the back and watched and sure enough he approached someone else. This time I turned on the video on my iphone so AT&T will be dealing with this joker.

called fedex AGAIN for the 3rd time since last night, and they finally gave me more info than what is said on the tracking site. the guy said its being held in customs, and even though my shipment came from china with yours and sahilio, mine was just randomly picked by customs to be held. overnight. still not released. since last night at 6. im annoyed. and im more annoyed because theres nothing i or fedex can do about it but wait till its released. i just dont get it. hopefully itll get here by monday even though at this point i would gladly pay for it to be here on a saturday delivery. idk how apple feels about saturday deliveries or if they can expedite it at all once its released, but i may call and inquire just so im not sitting in the dark.

My Ipad is still in HK ***???

How long was your ipad in HK for?????

OH NO! That stinks! I know that customs does randomly hold shipments from time to time (spot checks) but that's so frustrating!! Maybe call Apple and see what they can do for a Saturday delivery--FedEx DOES deliver on Saturdays. Or maybe they will give you credit or something? Not a ton of consolation, but it IS worth waiting for! 😉

it just s_cks so bad. so close and then so far..
i just talked to a guy from apple and he said there are 2 services for shipping; M-F and saturday delivery is Tues-Sat, whatever that means. i am apparently on the regular M-F shipping and they cant expedite once it clears customs so im prolly getting it monday. he then proceeded to make small talk about how my university's football team was his favorite..

still wished i could get some sort of compensation like those lucky dogs who got a free smart cover or a decent credit. but whatever.. trying to be patient but its hard when i dont get the full info..

I got a free smart cover because they said it wouldn't be here until next week (but it just arrived, actually), and didn't even have to ask for it. Maybe you should try another agent (regardless of his/her football allegiance)? I mean, really, there isn't anything wrong with asking and it was NOT delivered when they said. Good luck!

You can't blame Fedex or Apple for US customs delays. We had a container land in NY for my company. It was flagged to be x-rayed. It took 2 weeks for it to get done. The customs agents only come to this facility twice a week. So they may not get to your container. And if you want to complain...Don't bother. We had my freight company, the storage facility and my customs broker calling...And most of the time they wouldn't get an answer. And when they did it was.."Well get to it.".

Mine was finally shipped today, due to arrive on Wednesday. This is after 36 hours of preparing the device for shipment. I expect to have to navigate a mine field and disarm a small nuclear device to get it out of the box.

Fedex delivers on Saturday even if you don't ask for it. Sat is same as the other 5 weekdays for Fedex. Just like USPS. UPS is the only one that doesn't. Be thankful that Apple chose Fedex.

thats an idea, the girl i talked to yesterday did say it would be here by their 'projected date' that was in the shipping email i got, which is monday, so technically it would be here by their date...idk. i even mentioned that it was my first launch purchase and how unorganized it all was idk.. they just apologized. i guess i just feel awkward asking lol

People need to chill out. You have to interact with Customs in other countries to understand how good US Customs people are. After all, we are the biggest consumer country in the world and if Customs was not this easy, it would affect the world economy. We don't produce anything, we just import and buy.
