my big thing was seeing when the soonest date was i could get it. got off the phone with fedex intl who said they would notify the local office for saturday delivery if the package makes it there within the next 24 hours or so,(or before sunday).
thats the best i can think of so hopefully customs can go quickly and smoothly since its been in AK for almost 24 hours, and in customs for 17 hours. just frustrating. although im not well versed in customs regulation and i dont know how long customs for intl packaging goes but i hope its on a flight out at least by this evening.

I supposed to arrive on tuesday the 22 but I dont see that happening if its not even in the states yet...

I don't know how long customs can take either, but we do know that your iPad and mine were on the same flights and I am typing on mine and yours is in customs. I'm not saying that to make you feel bad, but because I think you can say that to them, and that its a big inconvenience, etc. If it doesn't inspire you to ask, that's your prerogative too, but just giving you options/ideas.

If its at the FedEx office near you and they say they can't deliver it, can you go pick it up over the weekend? They have been know to have agents there even on Sunday if necessary.

I am waiting for mine to be delivered.

Yankeegal did you check for the screen bleeding?

So Yankeegal, I've been following this thread since Sunday, I gotta know, is it totally awesome? Any problems with screen bleed or connectivity? I've been reading lots of those threads too in anticipation of my shipment!!

Sahilio and kagard--- I had the original iPad too, but have to say that the size and weight factors alone make this one awesome! I like the camera but haven't used FaceTime yet. I don't see any yellow tint on my screen or bleeding but maybe that's because I still have stars in my eyes. 🙂

For those who are monitoring:

I ordered very early 12:45am the first day.. although I've read that those orders using one-click, which I did, were delayed and hour or so.

16gb WiFi.. no 3g. YES to engraving. I was on the 11:55 stuck at LanTau Island, HK like so many others. Yesterday it was on the FedEx flight from Achorage to Oakland landing in Oakland at somewhere around 10:40 Pacific. I live in the boonies… so I figure from Oakland would take a while… my actual delivery date stayed at March 22nd.

For what it's worth, once my AV component left Lantau Island, it
was at my building within 48 hrs.
Fedex works saturdays, so it's possible.

I've been looking on this thread to see progress - my spring break was this week and I was hoping it'd have been here so I could familiarize myself with the new hardware on my "off" time - no such luck - expected delivery 22-29.

I have to agree with a lot of the posters bringing attention to the tsunami effort - it's absolutely had to have disrupted international traffic, and I hope there's potable water and sanitation equipment being shipped in place of ipads because if this were most any other country in the world, we'd already be seeing terrible cholera outbreaks.
****, I'm sure most of us would donate a "week of delayed ipad" time instead of the $100 I coughed up to aid the effort.

That's obviously not the only factor here - been an apple user since the 1990's and I blame all of you for the delay as much as I do Apple's manufacturing;

At least many of you guys see SOME movement. I ordered mine at 7:15 AM eastern time on 3/11, and it STILL just says "not yet shipped". It ***** because we're leaving for a cruise on the 26th / 27th, and I had really expected to have it by then. To add insult to injury, my leather smart cover arrived days ago. It's just sitting there, eyeballing me, taunting me.

Hey, anyone think the color / gig selection may have an affect? I'm waiting on a 16gig, white, wifi only. I presume because it's the most inexpensive model, they are selling most rapidly, and, considering Apple's track record sigh white products, maybe that's making it worse too. Either way. This stinks, because unless it ships out Saturday, the odds of it arriving before we leave are slim. I'm sure, of course, it will be sitting on my front step 3 hours after we start the drive to NYC, and boy will my girl be ****** when i turn that car around!!

I just ordered mine on the 16. It said 4-5 weeks before I ordered online. But my account shows it's being deliver March 21. Maybe because I didn't have it engrave. Be aware that if you engrave your ipad 2 , you do not have that 14 days return window if you decide to return it. You really think a free engraving from APPLE have a catch? Apple saves money because people can not return their Ipad 2 with the engraving.

I ordered a 32GB WiFi in white at 8:30am EST on the 11th, to ship in 5-7 biz days. It still hasn't shipped as of 5 min ago, but today is only the 5th day.

It's supposed to deliver between the 22nd and 29th as well. I just wish there would be some movement on it. I bought my smart cover for it on Monday and it's terribly lonely. =(
