i talked to someone from fedex who apologized and said it was held in customs and then she didn't know why it hadn't been sent out from AK yet. she assured me it would be on a flight tonight but at this rate, i dont even know...

I checked that last night and it was helpful. Hopefully we find out soon what's going on! I sent request via email as well. I am crossing my fingers for Monday.

Start rant:
Friend of mine has already had his 2 replaced because of 'bleeding'. It was so feint I could only detect it in total dark, and then only if I was really looking for it at the right angle. Nothing I'll be complaining about.

Re: recall - ha, yeah, they'll recall a half million units. They won't, and they shouldn't. Save complaints for something important, and a little more obvious.

Fair enough - I know there is no chance in **** they will recall the lot. I am even skeptical they'll make an announcement.

However, that being said, you might have seen only 2 iPads where it is very feint, but I have seen 3 (still not many) including mine where I can see light bleeds in a lit room on default brightness.

If it doesn't bother you, then fine. I have 7 spots where bleeding is happening and I use my iPad to consume a bunch of digital media....movies/shows in particular. I'd rather not have distracting light coming in from the edges, sorry.

It is quite obvious when watching shows, a movie etc.

Just spoke to an Apple rep. Apparently mine is "one of the first being shipped". I ordered 12.45 PST on March 11. It has been on Lantau Island HK for 24 hours and is expected to arrive here in LA on the 23rd of March. She did not offer me a $100 credit as she did the previous poster though! She said there were no problems at any shipping facility and everything was running smoothly in HK despite the earthquake/tsunami.

Thank you for that reality check. Really. I was ashamed of myself after reading your post. Here I am sitting in my comfy cozy home whining because my $547 bit of technology hasn't been given to me yet. I apologize for such a spoiled brat mentality. My prayers go out to all those suffering and I appreciate this lesson. Thanks again.

Mine STILL hasn't shipped. For those of you who spoke to an Apple rep...who did you speak to? Did you call Apple Store or Support? I'm unclear on who to call.

Does anyone know about the 4-5 week timeline? I am hoping that mine ships EARLY right now it says April 23rd as the delivery date. REAPLY HOPING that it comes faster than that. Is there ANY HOPE?!?

My unit's been in Hong Kong for a couple of days and the Yahoo tracking site isn't giving any different results. Anyone with similar tracking info had any better luck?

It's a 64GB white AT&T unit ordered at 12:55AM March 11th. Delivery promised by 4:30 on March 23rd. I'm hoping it mysteriously appears a few days early like some others have reported!
