iPad 2 Shipping

Trouble is I ordered mine, the same as yours spec wise, 1/2 hour ealier and I went to the end of the line for some reason.
Apple and Fed x both aren't doing so great with this release. But it doesn't surprise me.

Meanwhile, my red smart cover - ordered at the same time - just left Anchorage. While others got their covers within a few days, mine is due March 22nd. Probably better. I'm antsy enough without staring at that laying around!

Forget about it!! Just watched ABC News and they had a story on the iPad2 and the fact that 5 components in the iPad are made in Japan. They said if the factories do not re-open, there will be a shortage. Apple has yet to respond to them. I ordered on March 11th engraved 32 - black- wifi. So far, not shipped with date for shipping April 1st. Got the cover and camera kit already. I am also concerned about the radiation in these components. Should I worry? Now, who knows when my iPad will arrive.

Yes indeed it is very inconsistent. I ordered mine around 2 PST on the release date, and mine is still in Hong Kong. Mine is engraved, though. I really I can only cross my fingers and hope that our iPads may arrive soon!

There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to any of it. And to those of you calling apple to ask them about it; save your time and frustration. They just type in your order number in the computer, and read the exact same information you're already looking at back to you. They certainly have no answers as to why some who ordered their ipads after you are having them shipped sooner.

I ordered a 16 gig white wifi only at 7:00 AM on the 11th (easter time), and it supposedly hasn't even shipped. Been staring at my leather cover all week. Meantime, my friend a couple cities away, in Albany, NY, ordered his black 32 gig wifi only at 5:30 PM, and his shipped a couple days later, and arrived yesterday. It's a total bummer. But anyway, like I said, don't bother calling Apple, they will politely regurgitate the shipping information we've all been staring at for a week, and tell you that it will arrive within the estimated delivery date. As for calling Fedex, I'm that those of you doing so are getting the time of day from them, because for the most part, they dont care until it's actually been shipped, and even when it has been shipped, for those of use like me that have estimated delivery dates that are 22nd to 29th (kept deliberately broad), they really concern themselves with it until the 30th...

Hey Monk Boo, we share the same problems. Interestingly, our times are almost identical. I was worrying that FedEx might have accidentally lost my package in Hong Kong, but of course it was extremely unlikely. My iPad has also been stuck in Hong Kong for three days, and my Smart Cover, which was ordered at the same time as my iPad, arrived today. I have absolutely no idea what is happening. I'll keep on crossing my fingers and I hope that our iPads will arrive pronto!

Ordered 1:59 am 3/11. Rec'd the cover today. I guess I have to get my google map out and look up Lantau Island - but how does it start in Shenzhen, go to Lantau and then back to shenzhen? Seems kind of redundant.

Mine arrived in HK on 16th and still there. Smart Cover arrived also 16th and already delivered. Destination is Austin TX. I'm beginning to doubt of it actually shipped. I think it's a phantom shipment to keep us all happy, and make us believe they are shipping in the 3 - 5 days promised when we ordered. Otherwise why would the smart cover move out of HK same day it arrived.

And as for Apple hearing us, they will only hear what they want.

I don't believe they are in Sennan Shi. Mine is saying the same also. I think it's a delay tactic so they can say there are issues. Why would they ship our iPads to a center with major delays 1 week after the largest recorded earthquake? My Smart Cover shipped the same day and arrived already.

Mine shipped on the 17th and is scheduled to be at my house on the 24th due to a delay at Hong Kong airport since Fed Ex got there past the cutoff time for that day. Like you mine was to ship in 3 to 5 business days which it did and my order was processed at 12:59 am on release day like yours. My beef is that we were not told these things were not inventoried like the smart cover which reached me last saturday..one day from order to delivery. Pre ordering is the way that Apple did it with iPad 1 and they should go back to that on iPad 3 when it comes in the future. So hopefully my iPad 2 3G 32 gb will be here next thursday. If you read the fine print and count the days, they have not let anyone down so far.

Maybe i have missed the discussion but i was so excited when my ipad, that i order at 1:12 PDT on the 11th shipped. now its stuck in hong kong for two days and it shows a delivery date of the 23rd. I no CEO but this does not sound like an efficient way to ship products!!

karenowc - I read somewhere (it was probably in a forum so don't quote me on this) that if you got your iPad engraved that it had to be engraved somewhere else before it was shipped out to you. Mine was engraved and this wasn't the case for me, so who knows.

Mine just arrived in Memphis this morning. I bugged FedEx yesterday evening and the person I spoke to said I should be getting my iPad on Monday. Here's hoping!

On the other hand, mine got to NJ in two days and this morning in NY for a total of three days:
