iPad 2 Shipping

I ordered my iPad, black 32GB wi-fi, at 4:30 AM on 3/11 and got it, and the cover, on 3/17.
I would have had it on 3/16 had I been home when the FedEx gut arrived.

The inconsistencies between ordering and delivery times is amazing. It almost seems the NorthEast is getting theirs faster! Lol. For those of you wondering what's going on with delays at Lantau, check the Yahoo FedEx tracker, more details then FedEx itself

I should have added that I did not order engraving. This seems to be one common denominator in the length of time it takes. Others have conjectured that the iPad is sent to another factory and returned to the originating location just to have the engraving done.

I ordered my 64gb 3G ATT iPad 2 Black around 7:00am EST (4:00am PST) on Friday the 11th and still in the dreaded Not Yet Shipped list. No engraving. Delivery Estimate was for March 19-25. I am now starting to be skeptical about even the outside March 25 date. ;(

My I-Pad was ordered on March 12 (32G) black, but then I thought it wouldn't be large enough so I called back on the 13th and changed it to the 64G black, and this changed my shipping date all the way to April 14. It has already been moved 1 week back, hopefully will get it soon.

I should have mentioned in my post above (although I have indicated this in earlier posts in this long thread) that I ordered Friday 11th at 12:52 am PDT (or 3:52 am on the east coast). The three hour difference from your order puts you a bit farther down the priority list. But had you ordered in the later morning instead of 4 am PDT, you'd be looking at an early to mid April arrival date.

My "Prepared for shipping" was on Mar 15, so it took 4 days from that status to arrival at the FedEx distribution site in my area. You may still get it by the 25th.

As I said before, I don't think engraving has anything to do with it. Mine is engraved and I got it yesterday (east coast).

Thanks PV. Fingers are crossed. I suspect that "my" iPad hasn't even been assembled yet. Heck maybe that's good news! Perhaps the factory is "taking a down day" to re-emphasize proper sealant/gasket installation/backlight installation/shielding for this:

Ordered my iPad 2, 64 white, wi-fi, 3g at 7:12am est. Mine says delivered by March 22-29 at this point the status still says Not Yet Shipped.

Same boat as Denise, ordered iPad 2 32gb black with only Wi-Fi plus engraving around 8:40 AM EST. Same "Not Yet Shipped" status with delivery between March 22-29. Something says in my mind that it won't be here by then.

Benny - regarding the engraving: I would think that would be the case but I didn't have mine engraved. So my iPad's travels seem odd.

benny; still in the same boat as you, mines been in memphis since midnight with no movement. guess theres no hope in saturday delivery. at this rate they could have just drivin to florida from memphis and made it..

Can anyone tell me what your Fedex shipment weight says for your Ipad2 in the tracking history?

My order confirmation (32GB WiFi + accessories) states precisely 1:27AM PDT on 3/11 and I've received all of my accessories,some of which went through Lantau HK (like the cover). I'm on the East coast.
Still left is the top prize, the iPad. Also got engraving. Scheduled for 3/22 arrival, and that hasn't changed since my "shipped" confirmation email from 3/15. According to the Yahoo Fedex site, posted by a kind soul here, the shipment arrived on 3/18 in Sennan Shi at 20:00. I just checked the site again, and it's been updated to reflect that it left the Sennan Shi ramp on 3-19 at 22:14.
Is that good, or bad? 🙂 My local Fedex delivery person told me on Friday (as she delivered my cover) that I shouldn't be surprised if it arrives on Monday (3/21). The cover was scheduled for 3/21 and it arrived on the 18th, so I'm hoping she's right.

Hi Andre Guitar, I ordered mine (64GB wifi white) close to when you ordered yours. My trackng info is pretty similar to yours and right now it says Left Fedex Ramp, so I assume it should be reaching Anchorage Alaska and the the final hop to the East Coast (I'm in NYC). We'll see it's still March 22nd by 4:30pm as my delivery date. Looks like this plane/shipment has everyone's iPads 😉
