iPad 2 Shipping

pvonk, I am surprised that yours has shipped while mine hasn't. And my order time is 10 minutes ahead of you for exactly the same model - no engraving. Can you please share your order number? I want to give this feedback to Apple so that they can improve their system.

My two order details from the order acknowledgement is as follows:

Mar 11, 2011 at 12:40 AM PDT - Order number W267884721

Strangely, the order placed 2 minutes later has lower sequential number.

benetton73, I don't think there is a delay on the ATT 16 GB 3Gs. My 16GB black AT&T 3G with engraving shipped on the 14th and is scheduled to be delivered on the 18th. Right now its at the FedEx facility in Lantau Island HK.

Status on my 64GB AT&T white pad changed to "shipped" mid morning today after over 48 hours in "prepared for shipping". Estimated arrival date is March 22.

Thanks yankeegal, just wonder what time you placed your order, it just seems weird that it has been "prepared" for shipment since monday morning.

benetton, I placed the order at 3:43 AM ET on the 11th. Hope that helps!

Just wondering did you get the black or the white? I got the 16gb ATT but in white and ordered just a few minutes before you but I still have the "not yet shipped" as the order status. Strange. Thought maybe the black was shipping before the white.

You might be on to something there if benetton ordered the white. (Mine is black).

Update: As of 1:00 PM EDT the status of my order for my Black 64GB Wi-Fi placed at 12:57 AM PDT on March 11 has changed to prepared for shipment.

Going through this list again....Ive only seen 2 64gb shipped and they were white. Maybe a delay with black 64gb?

It is probably taking so long to ship because they are checking the product for the light leak issue.

I agree with you. They should have been able to anticipate the overwhelming request for the Ipad and learned from the launch of the original Ipad. The Ipad 2 is not in any of the retail stores. I have learned to call ahead of time so I don't waste my time or gas.

This launch was not well thought-out, planned and anticipated.

Just got back from my local apple store and the employee told me they get new shipments daily but they did not have the one i wanted or i would have cancelled my order

Your comment makes me wonder if the employees at the apple stores are always telling the truth about the ipad2 in stock. When you go to the stores, they don't have any and you are asked to call, when you call they don't have any, but I keep hearing they receive shipments daily. What's wrong with this scenario?

They have told me they receive shipments daily (except for Sunday), they just don't know what is in those shipments. They told me to call in the morning to see if they got any iPad 2s in their shipment.
