iOS4 update - now iPhone now reboots during phone call (continued)

Hi, i had the same problems with my 3gs, i could solve the problem with replacing the watchdog file with an older one (ios3). But now i can not use apps like whatsapp anymore because of the od 4.01 ios.

So this weekend i am going to update to ios 6.1. and see what happens. If the problem stays, i replace the battery!

Well, the software workaround which worked for iOS5 may (or may not) also work with iOS6, now that the evasi0n jxxlbrxxk is available.

Google for "3GS reboots during telephone calls jonty".

Works for Macs as well as PCs, using iExplorer.

Just checking in to observe that I don't use my phone for long calls most of the time, so I'm late to this dismal party — but my iPhone 3GS follows the pattern described by all the others: 4 minutes or so, then quits and reboots.

Not jailbroken, iOS 6.0.1 (10A523), on O2 here in the UK.

Hello to all, it's been a while.

My ol' 3GS was 'retired' in the later months of 2012 but before being parked in its drawer I thought I'd check out iOS 6 and installed 6.0.1 at the time. To be honest I wasn't fussed about making calls rather I wanted to see how bad Apple maps was. Crikey.

To cut to the chase this evening I dug out the 3GS and spent some time with it and Google. Still running 6.0.1 I was able to use the same fix as iOS 5, but as it's not my main phone I don't yet know if reboots are cured (and probably won't find out for myself to be honest). What I can say is that I've updated my website for those who want to chance a fix (just check out my profile).

For those still suffering I hope there's some value still to be had. Failing that there's always Android 😉

Back again, After udating my 3gs to IOS 6, The problem with rebooting after longer calls is gone!

So the phone is working like it should be.

My 3GS has been ok since 5.1.1. But the consensus seems to be that it varies. If you're on anything older than 5.1.1, give it a try.
