So make it "Thousands" + 1. Saying "Me Too" in these forums does not tell Apple anything. Reporting your issues, which may not be the same as someone else's (especially since each person's mix of 3rd party apps will be different), may be a helpful clue to iOS developers. Using the BugReporter method actually gives a channel for Apple to ask follow up questions (not that they necessarily will).

@BobHarris,

Apple's bugreporter was down, even after going through a lengthy sign-in on the developer site. Touchfeedback has had reports since July 2010 regarding the quick battery discharge - why does it take them soooo long to fix the problem, which seems to have gotten worse since ios4.3 was released along with the video problems that ios4.3 has caused? Even the iphone 4 is now (ios4.3) having problems with quick battery drains.

Mr. Host or an Apple employee (yes, they do monitor the Discussion threads and need to contribute to this user forum rather than delete constructive posts)- Does apple ever test, fix, retest, fix again, retest their software prior to releasing? I doubt it.

Before I purchase or recommend ANY Apple product there needs to be a solution to the quick battery drain for ipods.

Do something apple to fix the quick battery drain, or at least let us revert to ios 3.1.3 that let the battery last for days without recharging.

I have been using Apple products since the IIE. Apple has always fixed whatever minor and extremely rare problems I have experienced. My iMac 27" 2009 had the graphics problem. It was fixed in time...no problem. This problem with iOS 4.3, whatever it is, will be fixed also. I get 2 1/2 to 3 hours playing 3d games, but I have to make adjustments like turning on Airplane Mode, but I think that amount of time with a 3d game is pretty darn good and using Airplane Mode is a minor inconvenience. It's no big deal for me and I know if there is a problem Apple will fix it.....but NOT today! I love Apple products even with their occasional warts. I've been reading through much older posts about the iOS upgrades in the past and see almost the exact same messages about battery problems. Apple is almost as dedicated to me as I am to them...but they are dedicated. I feel your pain and frustration...all of you, but a fix will come. Be patient. Peace.

That is fine if you have a newer iPod touch, but those with 2G or 3G(8Gb) will not benefit as the updates are no longer available to us. The fix should be to allow us to restore to iOS 3 as many have suggested.

Oh, and yes I have registered the problem with Apple through the right channels and they have not responded.

I am one of the lucky ones as I now have it working well.. But I have tucked game center away in a folder so I don't accidently activate it and I have not installed any games on mine.

I would suggest enabling Airplane Mode in the settings screen and disabling it when you want to use wi-fi, bluetooth or location services, or you can disable those services individually. But enabling Airplane Mode makes it quick and easy. You can read more about it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1355

I can't say I understand your situation because I have had my first iPod Touch for only about a month. It does seem from your post, others, and older issues I've read about iOS, that I may very well have this to look forward to in the future, like you and many others have already. Though I hope not to the level you're speaking from. I do hope the problems will be alleviated soon for yourself and all of us.

Peace

Second time in as many month this happened to me (see previous posts in Feb). The battery starts suddenly drain rapidly. The first time I had tried many of the solutions posted in this thread. Not sure which one worked but the situation came back to normal after some time. Now it happened again last week! Again I tried many of the "tricks" posted here. However, I had not resettrd the network connections yet. I did hesitate a while but decided to do it. After doing so I waited a day before connecting again. At the moment of connecting again to my home network the battery was still 100%. As soon as I connected I could notice the battery starting to drain faster than normal. Now I think I know what happens: both occurences happemed after apps upgrades (last one on March 15th for + or - 8 apps). I do not think the OS is the direct culprit. It seems to me that one of the upgraded apps is constantly trying to connect, what drain the battery but I can't find which one it is. So, here is MY QUESTION: is there a way of identifying which app is constantly trying to connect to Wi-Fi? Thank you for any thoughts on this.

Apple has had battery issues in the past: http://www.9to5mac.com/9488/Apple-investigates-iPhone-battery-life-MMS-from-ATT- this-week/ ---note the date 2009!

The ipod rapid battery discharge should have been fixed in the last six updates of ios4.xx for the itouch?

FIX THE itouch ios 4.xx FAST BATTERY DISCHARGE APPLE and WITHOUT HAVING TO TURN FEATURES OFF.
