What you should try to do is restore the apple product. After doing this reset the product in System Preferences. If this does not work try playing your ipod untill the battery runs out many messages will pop up but that might be a mathfalction. If it turns off because of low battery after a full charge take it to the apple store where the iPod might need a new battery.

I am very disappointed in this iPod(really only in battery life(other than that I love the dang thing)). When i first got it, It would seem like i could listen to music forever without the iPod losing any battery life, and now I lose almost 50%(slite exaggeration) of the battery life, when i only listened to music for about 2 hours!

I would like to say to Joseph and Soulkeeper ~I bought an apple Ipod 4th generation about a year ago. I have had nothing but problems with the battery! So I do not see Joseph and I want to say this nicely! How can you say you have no problems with your ipod and tell Soulkeeper he is doing self- inflicted problems? My ipod 4th generation touch will only play music for 4 hours period! I have worked with some of the best and brightest techncians apple has. They sent me a Mophie that I can keep charged up. And put it on the ipod when the battery runs out. Now this is helpful. But, if I had known the ipod would only run 4 hours for music ONLY I would not have purchased it! I have talked to the technicians about the battery problem. And they are aware of it. You have to get a top ISO technician who is nice to get them to admit it!! The Mophie is the answer?? No, I don't think so!!! And I have told the technicians at apple this too. They say they are working on it! They are aware of this problem! So I think everyone who has the problem should be upset!!

Soulkeeper, there is no way you are doing anything self -inflicked! The technicians worked with me for hours on the phone. I can say their customer service is great if you get a top ISO tech. And I agree with you! If you want to rant then go ahead and rant!! I think everyone who has a problem with the batterys should rant! I told each technician to google -Problems with 4th and even 5th generation ipod touch battery problems. They did not like that at all Just ignored that suggestion. I love music. It is my passion. It helps life be better. It is soothing. But when you have to keep charging the battery up over and over it makes me a nervous wreck. I have thought about trying to buy a different MP3 player. But I have spent so much money on itunes and the ipod I will just have to keep it and the Mophie and do the best I can. I would be very delighted to hear what you have to say about my post. PS the technicians turned off about everything on the ipod in the back ground. Before they sent the Mophie they told me to turn off the screen. And I wanted to watch music videos?? Thank-You to each of you! I have ranted Soulkeeper! It has been a very stressful situation for me too! I sympathize with you! Sherry K

spwhiting ~I totally agee with you!

I was so glad I had an extended warranty on my ipod 4th generation touch. Because guess what I aam now on my 3rd ipod. I took the first one to apple store here. They gave me a brand new one. Another problem. It would not take the password on my modem. So I had to take it back to the apple store. She told me that some of them just would not hook up to wifi. So they gave me the third one! It worked. But at a certain place it quit charging up! I read somewhere that if you use another cord that the one that came with it that it might charge. So I bought an external charger. I used the cord from it and the plug in from the ipod. I plugged it in to the wall. I waited with my breath held. for about 1 minute and it went Bing. And I looked and it was recharging showing the battery. And it does not take long to recharge. I would say about 25 minutes if almost dead! I hope this will be helpful to some one else. Quite frankly I will never buy another apple product. They are just too picky. The ipods. Mine is now wanting to download new soft ware. And EVERY time I let it put new soft ware on it , It has some kind of problem. Why are they always putting new soft ware in the thing anyway???? So I need to know from a technician, Or someone who knows whether or not to put this new down load on it?? The new up date is IOS 6.1.6 What is it for??? Thank-You!
