Macbook Pro 2011 Bootcamp Secondary Display

Hi,

First time getting a macbook. Great machine, but i still need windows. I setup bootcamp, and its worked great. Installed the macbook drivers and everything.

I picked up a minidisplay -> vga adapter and it works great in osx.

However, in windows i can not get the secondary display to work. I updated the drivers, still nothing. In the settings, i can see the secondary monitor, the brand of it and even the resolution of it. But nothing is on the screen.

I called apple, they referred me to microsoft, who referred me back to apple.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

2011 macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I'm also experiencing the same issue on the new MacBook Pro 13'' (Early 2011):

Minidisplay->VGA connector works propertly from Mac OS X 10.6.7, but does not detect or does not output any signal to secondary display from Windows 7 SP1 (Ultimate x64). Bootcamp version 3.2 is up to date. I've tried updating to the latest Intel gfx driver (8.15.10.2321), but nothing changed.

This looks like software compatibility issue of the Bookcamp. Switching from VGA connector to DVI connector is not a solution for me, since I need to use external projector from Windows, connected through VGA cable...

Hope Apple will look into this issue and provide some fix/workaround, in place of just droping to Microsoft.

I have the same Problem.

If I install the ATI driver for Radeon 6750m on Bootcam my external display stop working. Is clear a Driver roblem. I called both Apple and AMD. Apple said that is a AMD problem. AMD said that is an Apple problem.
Basically - IF YOU NEED TO RUN BOOTCAMP WITH EXTERNAL DISPLAY DONT BUY THE NEW MAC BOOK PRO WITH ATI RADEON 6750M

So conclusion is ....

the problem is not limited to just the 13 inches Macbook Pro (which we initially thought it was caused by the Intel GMA video card)

Looks like the 15 inch and 17 inch models are also having problems with the Mini Display to VGA cable while in Bootcamp.

This is terrible .... I can't believe nobody is taking any responsibility to fix the problem ...

No one will take care of this. there is a limitation in the Driver that is not sending out ANALOGIC Signal, just Digital. If you can you a DVI or HDMI connection you will be fine. If you need a VGA (for almost all projectors) you are in trouble, like me.

I called the Apple Support and they said that is a AMD problem. I called AMD and they said ita an Apple problem. Maybe I should try to call Microsoft.....

I hope someone, sometime will take a look for this issue.
