Macbook Pro 2011 Bootcamp Secondary Display

Hi,

First time getting a macbook. Great machine, but i still need windows. I setup bootcamp, and its worked great. Installed the macbook drivers and everything.

I picked up a minidisplay -> vga adapter and it works great in osx.

However, in windows i can not get the secondary display to work. I updated the drivers, still nothing. In the settings, i can see the secondary monitor, the brand of it and even the resolution of it. But nothing is on the screen.

I called apple, they referred me to microsoft, who referred me back to apple.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

2011 macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

If anyone ever gets to this point like I just did... The solution for me was.

Plug in the Mini-Displayport to VGA adapter in. Wait 10-15 seconds. THEN attach VGA cable to Mini-Displayport to VGA adapter.

Connecting the adapter with the monitor already attached does not work for me at all.

I have 13" macbook air 2012, running win 10 with bootcamp drivers (Intel HD4000 updated). Adapter is an ATEN VC920. This issue could just be limited to cheap adapters. I was fighting for hours with this nonsense because I know it worked fine yesterday. As with the recovery of Apollo 13 - it's all in the sequencing!
