Is there a way to lock/hide apps or folders?

I have searched the forums but have not found a definite answer.

I'd like to either hide or lock some of my FPS games so my kids cannot access them.

Is there a native way to do this? Or do I need an app? And if so, what app is recommended. Don't necessarily need pw protection, just a way to hide a folder.

TIA.

Hello!! EVERYONEEE I FOUND HOW!! I was extremely upset and thought i should check the app store.. I searched "Hide apps" and boom! I found an app called "Secret apps lite" And i couldnt have been happier. at the moment it is downloading but appearantly you set a passcode on certain apps..Hope it does what I need!!

It doesn't not allow you to set a password on apps. It allows you to secure data: picturec, notes, contacts.

As Meg points out, it secures data and photos you put inside it, but it does not lock down other Apps mainly because the way iOS works does not allow Apps to affect other Apps in any way.

In the end there is no real way to lock or hide Apps, because iOS simply isn't built that way.

Also was it really necessarry to ressurrect a year old thread for this?

I have the same problem with my student using educational apps but obsessed with my Amazon prime and Youtube videos. Luckily at my school there is no wifi access so he can't get on the internet, but it doesn't keep him from trying every day. It would be so easy to have a folder that could be locked with all of those apps inside. I hope Apple can think of a a solution to this problem.
