Wrong Apple ID: How do I change the Apple ID prompt when Updating All Apps?

How can I change the (wrong) Apple ID from the password prompting dialogue when I am already signed in Apple Store with my own ID?

More details of my problem:
When I try the Apps' Update-All option in my iPod 4, the password dialogue prompts me with my girlfriend's Apple ID; YET, I AM signed in the Apple Store with MY own Apple ID.
I have already verified my ID under Settings/Store. I have also signed out, signing back in with my Apple ID, just in case. No problems there, for I DO sign in with my own ID ok. The problem is just the prompt dialogue for password, when I try to use the 'Update All' feature it prompts me for password with her ID, not mine.
If I go back to Apps and choose the Categories (or Top25) menu, at the bottom of the page, it shows me signed in (my Apple ID). If I try to update one Apps it will do ok. But if I try to Update All it will prompt me for password using her ID, waiting for me to type in HER password. I cannot change the Apple ID on that dialogue (static). If I use my password, it will return the "wrong password" dialogue.

How can I change the prompt for the Update All? What is going on here that I AM signed in but my iPod prompts me with her ID. My iPod is registered under my Apple ID. I have already tried the Hard reset by pressing Home and Power buttons simultaneously, to no avail. I am also using my own network to go Online. I am also with the latest OS in my iPod and my Mac's iTunes.
Thank you!
PS This problem is not occurring in my iPhone 4 (same account) nor my Macs.

iMac, MacBook, iPhone 4, iPod touch 4, Mac OS X (10.6.5), intel core 2 duo

Blackjack! You're awesome! Thank you! I had the same experience as you. Whilst a weird experience and obviously some bug, your solution worked!

FYI - when I went to update apps, when I clicked to update on two the sign in came up with my wife's Apple ID (no idea why as she never uses my iPhone). So I deleted those two apps from my iPhone, went to Purchased Apps and re-installed these two apps which I already owned under my sign in. Problem fixed!

So here is my problem. I got a macbook at work which was used by another employee for 2 months before she quit. While I have registered my Apple Id in iTunes, when i want to updates softwares on my Mac, the default Apple Id is of the previous employee. I am unable to change it to mine as the email field is locked and only the pasword field is usable. If i click on Cancel entering the password, the updates do not activate and noone has a clue to the password set by the previous employee.

How do i work aorund this problem?

Thanks,

Cheers,

Salil, India.

I'm having the same issue on a Powerbook, the problem with the statement above is that we are NOT talking about purchased items. I cannot update iPhoto or iMovie...these are basic parts of the OS now. Other parts of the OS do update: Safari, etc.

When I go into the App Store and hit Sign In or Account, the Apple ID is pre-populated with the previous user's ID. I cannot enter my own. This user's account has been completely removed off the mac, via Delete User, and yet it shows up here.

There must be some way of changing this?

I am an "I too" Cuz I too am having the same problem. I'm trying to sync purchased music off of my iphone 4s to my itunes. I get prompted with...I don't even know who's email address and when I erase and put mine in it gives me someone else...so weird. So I don't know how to get my purchased music off my iphone to itunes so I can put it all on my iphone 5s just purchased. Maybe I should return the phone. I'm so frustrated. It's not the user friendly iphone etc... Can anyone help now?

Quite simple to resolve actually. Took me 2 mins.

1> Delete all apps on i(device).

2> Exit all apple applications (such as itunes etc)

3> Find your [itunes] library and DELETE it.

4> Open itunes and install apps again.

It will ask you to transfer purchases (music, apps etc) in itunes then erase all data on the i(device). All apps now ask for YOUR password and not old ones (ex-partners etc) lol.

ENJOY.

On my MacBook I opened "App Store" then went to "Store" > "Show my account (email) …". Then clicked on "manage" under "Hidden articles". In the new screen I clicked "apply"—it showed an app that I purchased before—and then App Store presented me a list of apps to transfer to my account. In my case it was Xcode, iWorks and the native Apple Apps (GarageBand …). Hope this helps.
